Just got time to complete my conversion . I notice to remove the upper deck of FW05RR is so much difficult compare than FW05R upper deck. This time the upper deck is joint with the front diff cover and the front suspension stay.

Any trick on quickest way to dismantle the upper deck ? Or maybe anyone can tell me - how normally you dismantle the upper deck of FW05RR Thank you

I think there should be a distinction between "punch" and acceleration... The thing you feel coming out of a turn is the punch. But you can have a lot of punch and still no acceleration. It's just like a real car with a very short first gear, like an off-road car or a tractor. These things have no acceleration at all! There's a point of diminishing return as to how much acceleration you get from the higher gear ratio you go...

not much thats why i got the kawahara conversion , my car accelerates harder than with the 39t ring gears and has more top speed.

Marcos, what engine are you using?

W/ the 40t, my car was spinning all 4 wheels comming out of the corners if I got on the throttle too fast, I'm running an X-12. That's one of the resons I'm changing, also I didn't have as much top end as the others running mugens and serpents. Where I run, most people are running Maxy Mod engines or Murman mod, ect.

Hopefully I wont loose too much out of the corners and still have good top end. I'll be testing it this weekend on a track that has a long straight and med infield with 2 tight swittch backs. I'm going to keep the stock pinion/spurs in and see how it reacts. Let you guys know next week.

Marcos,

I saw your post at the FT raceway, hope you can make it down to Puerto Rico and race with us sometime. We got a great group of racers, comp is getting tougher everyday, and we always have a good time. There is a group of us running kyoshos this year too, so there are always spares if you ever need them(these cars are tanks).

Hope to see you down here soon.
Hopefully next year I'll make it up there to race at full throttle- time permitting.

My FW was running strong until the first pit stop, a few laps late the car shut off and wouldnt start, took the engine apart and the piston had a crack!!
