Hey Roy, I suspect it will not fit with the standard radio box in place. If you remove that it would fit easily.

Default r40 2005 kit

I'm about 50% done with building my 2005 kit. The biggestproblem that I've got is the manual. The manual is off the base kit and doesn't show all the upgrade parts. (almost same as hara edition)

Does any one know where I can download this manual. I also don't know where the battery must go. In the standard edition the battery goes under the fuel tank.

In the 2005 edition the stearing servo goes under the fuel tank.

Thats weak , why didnt they make new manual? Wonder if hara edition has the same deal.

I know my 2004 manual was the same , but they included quite a few sheets of supplemental instructions for all the extra parts and assembly.

With 2 cars plus extra gearing it comes to a pretty large sum. When I bought the 2 cars used, they came with every pinion available almost X2 and enought parts to build 2 more 2 speeds. I haven't ever needed to replace any parts yet cause I don't race enough. Might be able to go to a race this Sunday though.
There are some 3racing parts that work with the stock 2spd but are lightweight housings and such. Pretty good if you like the stock setup.

Looks like CG (carbon graphite) suspension arms , did you buy those extra or did they come with the kit?

That sucks , no CF side brace....whats the freaking deal with the hara/2005 kit.

See how much we will spend on a barely upgraded car. Sheesh.

Nice job u have done for the car, but for the manual, HPI never seemed to bother to renew it since the original R40.

By the way, your car seems to be missing two small CF pieces for the lower rear shock mounts, example:

see the two small CF pieces, they are supposed to be mounted on the stock lower rear arms, I think you should check if you missed them...

Thats why i sold my 2004 , they dont seem to be going anywhere with the R40 (between the 2004 and 2005/Hara i dont think it will make that much of a difference) i think they need to look at the other brands of cars and design a new one that keeps up with the RRR's 710's and MTX-4's

Had another look in the box. Found another manual that shows the hara part needed for the 2005 edition. (After suffering for two days).

So I thought my car was complete, but have to go and fitt so more parts.(Thanks for showing me to some of it ogreasurada).

Rebuild my shocks. and add silicon oil to rear differential gear(standard manual shows only grease.

Here is a list of stuff that can see off hand by comparing the two manual that is new in this kit. I had a Quick look for prices on some of these parts and it is defenitily cheeper to by the 2005 edition than buying and old kit and upgrading it.

new parts from manual:
1)lightweight 2 speed shaft.
2)rear differential conversion set.
3)lightweight gear and clutch assembly.
4)rear shock tower.
5)Rear sub plates. (Which I forgot)
6)ligthweight middle shaft
7)front oneway differential.
8)steering upgrade set.
9)new upper deck plate.
10)aluminium servo mounts.
11)aluminium antenna holder.
12)racing fuel tank.
13)front shock tower.
14)aluminium hex hub.
15)aluminium threaded shock set.
16)new chassis plate.
