The 2-speed transmission..not the centax clutch.
2-speed has the 2 large gears and inside 1st gear there's a one-way bearing holder that holds the gear on the axle. Remove the screw and the cap so the bearing comes out along with gear. Keep it there, don't take remove the bearing from the holder, but clean it carefully and re-lube using WD40. It will work then.

how many degree steering throw are you guys getting..

i just noticed something.. when the steering is full locked.. the turnbuckle is hitting againest the inner bulkhead preventing it from going any further.. also the opposite side, the inner wheel is hitting the shock ending..

i figured out you could dremel the inner bulkhead down where the turnbuckle hit and also dremel the ball endings down abit to give you a better steering throw..

would this possibly help the RRR steering? especially on tight, small tracks with alot of hairpins..

I checked my car.. the wheel does not come even close to touch any parts when maximum in their position left/right.. not turnbuckles or anything else. There several millimeters of space in between. Servo horn cannot turn more .. it is done as advised in the manual.

Are you sure you are using wheels meant for this car.. 0 degree offset. Not too narrow or anything?

thats weird.. im running matrix wheels, front is running 199mm i think.. however i might change it to 200mm as that would give me a lil more steering throw?

im also running the old ackerman link as i have a front diff going in

here are some pics

and here is steering at full lock. as you can see the right wheel is hitting againest the shock ball end... I think kai888 had this problem aswell

This is normal. Just turn down your epa a little. If you use ackerman 11 or 12 this will not happen. ackerman 10 gives equal throw side to side.

Ackerman is the difference between the inside and outside tire throw.

10 ackerman - tires turns equal
11 ackerman - inside tire turns more
12 ackerman - inside turn even more then 11 ackerman

Hope that makes sense,
Joe

yeah i had the same problem, so i ended up just adjusting the epa on my transmitter. Is akerman the bit where the two turning rods snap onto?

hey guys, does the wing make a difference?

my car doesn't have a wing on it and i've got the stratus shell and some guy at the track was telling me that its because i don't have a wing that my car is oversteering around corners?
initially i just put it down to my shit driving

I cannot emphasize how much the wing affects handling and down force.

is there a trade off between straight line speed and having a wing?

The trade off is you car will handle horrible. There will be next to zero in speed difference.
