Guys i need help here.
I need some tips about products to improve traction on asphalt. I remember watching pics and videos of a semi-permanent parking lot track in USA with GT Cars and some very black paint/emulsion was droped on asphalt but i cant find the pics again, the idea is to improve a track traction suitable for rubber and foam racing ... Any tip will help, thanks, |

Our track uses generac brand Grape Soda. Grape soda for some reason is really sticky compared to other sodas. Plus it smells really good.
They spray it on with a pesticide pump sprayer you can get at Lowes or Home Depot. Before spraying they blow the area off with a leaf blower. They only spray once before the races, and seems to last through the day. |

I've used sugar and water in a spray bottle, you'll have to re-apply it between rounds though. And when we've been without a spray bottle we've used 2 litre bottles of Sprite.
Thanks man, im looking for a more permanent product ... thanks ! |
Hey Pato,
http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/d..._4789979_o.jpg a Short chassis R-2 ? Yours I guess ? Looking good! |

Contact Frank Killiam of VS Modelsports, he can shed light upon the topic for you. |

thanks ! When we had our group of 25+ GT cars racing on our home track, you could feel the rubber on the track surface with your hands. Grip was so good that the 1/8 scale & 200mm guys loved it. They all ran much harder than usual. Nothing beats a real rubber groove., Nothing;) |
Pato,
Another thing you can do for a track with low traction is drag real car tires around it. A lot of the big tracks have been doing that for years. Contact the guys of Red Cup Racing on the "Winternats" page, maybe they can help you more. Rubber is your friend, gunk is not. |

Best thing is to blow off the asphalt surface really well with a leaf blower and get as many racers to run a groove/line into the track during practice. As the rounds of qualifiers progress the track will continue to get better with the build up of foam/rubber in the groove/line (obviously this works even better in warmer weather). You can spray traction compound or some kind of sugar water/soda but too much can create a glaze on the track and tires. Just my opinion. Regards, Speyederjedi |

he's the "Pato"n not me, lol  Pato, dragging real car rubber tires is the best thing you can do, once you spray or bury the track surface with gunky stuff, you'll ruin it. But don't take my word on it, contact Frank Killiam and see what he says to you about it. ;) |

Has anybody tried a Schumacher/Picco 28 in their GT car?
http://i685.photobucket.com/albums/v...humacher28.jpg They're going really cheaply out of England.. I find it kind of interesting because it could work in all four of my RC's - DM1, SC8, and 2x LST2's... Would I really be losing RPM's with the Rotostart backplate though?... |

Herrsavage, You'll probably lose a few rpm's due to the roto-start but you may be able to disengage it to add a few more revs. I did that to my stock OFNA Force .28 pull start engine. I've always used a starter box so I disengaged the pull start on that engine for a few more top-end revs. Don't know how much the spring, pin and oneway bearing with pull start hold back the revs but I'm sure there is a difference once it is disengaged. That's a nice looking Picco BTW! I have a Picco JL Team Turbo .28 that I am still breaking in. It only has about 10 tanks of fuel through it but I can tell it's gonna really pull in the mid range. Regards, Speyederjedi |

Now that the temps are rising, I will go up to probably 1300 diff oil. |
I ran a set of those shocks for a while , and with the two hole piston I ended up running 2000wt oil. Stock front spring and other black spring rear. Didn't like how much I was having to mess with them , so I went back to the stock shock. I hope you have better luck with them. Let me know when you get them figured out and maybe I'll try mine again.

That is with the upgraded shocks using the 2-hole piston. It seems high to us off-road guys, i know, but my car got way better when I went from Kyosho 600ish fluid to 1000 diff fluid. Look at this pic, the car is moving into a corner, just off power, coming off the back straight, she is sitting level and hooked up!

Some companies use wt to rate the oils, but that seems to vary from company to company so it's hard to compare them. Then others use the true standardized cts (centistokes) value to rate. I think when you see oils rated as #xxx like Kyosho and HoBao they are using the cts values. |
Hope this helps a lil .... not all brands are there but you get a ballpark..http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m.../ShockOils.jpg

thats what i figured, cause i ALMOSt threw losi 1k diff oil in there...LOL...i wouldnt of done that j/k ..hey how do you like the powermaster fuel, im going to make the switch myself?
btw looks to be like losi 62.5 front maybe 60 rear... or so on... |
I use Powermaster exclusively now for all my nitro cars. Now that they teamed up with The King of Fuels VP you can't go wrong. :tire::tire::batman:
