Default Big block Impulse

You read right. One of my Impulses has Novarossi CX-15 RACE. I actually used motor mounts from my old Ofna Nitro Z-10 (the only thing that car was good for.) Ofna now makes a better mount, part # 37957. There is ALOT of grinding to make it fit, and it just barely fits. The chassis, engine mounts, and radio tray support have to be ground for clearance. Lots of metal splinters. There is no room to change clutchbell gears, you have to change pinion and spur. The left side brace no longer fits, and the side belt is dangerously close to the engine. Some sort of belt tensioner must be fashioned. I used Wolfpack Radicals universal tensioner. Now the good news. The big block makes 200mm car FLY. I rarely use more than 1/3 or 1/2 throttle, although I have only raced small tracks. Overall a worthwhile conversion, just expect it to be time consuming. I'm trying to borrow digital camera to post pics. Hopefully tonight or tommorrow.

Hey Nemesis....I finished the retrofit....it worked out fine...I had to trim that large Impact bumper somewhat but other than that it's ok....I can't wait to get the rear mounts done...

Default Hey got_speed?

Try part # 808140 to mount your shocks in rear. http://www.mytsn.com/products/parts.asp?prid=1764. The hoop on the top lines up with hoop on floating mount. Use the little silver bushing, and a screw and nut to hold them together. Not too tight. Wish I could post a pic. Would be alot easier. Who knew borrowing a digital camera would be so difficult. Good luck and may the Schwartz be with you.

got_speed? I'm still using stock clutch setup. Must get clutch nut really tight (I already munched one.) I currently use stock gearing 13T 1st 16T 2nd. Acceleration is amazing, although kinda tops out quick. Still blazingly fast though. Will try CENTAX soon with 16T 1st 19T 2nd. That gearing should be more appropriate for actual racing.

Got speed?
You need to gear up and use the Impact spurs and centax
Preferably 16/47 and highest pinion you got/44 for SVM.
