Kyosho VoneR Thread
Here's something from the Kyosho site I haven't seen before.
. . . could be worthwhile for some of us hackers.
FRP Gel Sheet (1.0mm) No.96160
Reinforce and repair the polycarbonate bodies.
It is very easy and simple how to use!
Cut the FRP Gel Sheet for proper size, then apply this sheet to back side of the polycarbonate body. After that expose the body to sunlight for 5 to 30 minitues until the sheet becomes hard.
*Includes 1 piece. for various models.
*Dimensions : 100x200mm (Thickness : 1.0mm)

Shoo Goo and screen mesh works great also. I cut the screen into usable leghts and place it at high stress spots on the body, front wheel wells ect bodys last alot longer.

Low CG
Took the plunge today in the quest for more speed. Put the 3 Racing flywheel on the RS T5, got the 3 Racing engine mounts and milled them down to 13.8 mm and dremeled the chassis so the clutch bell would not be rubbing. I'm also running the H.A.R.D. viper head.
These changes should make a significant change to the cg and improve the the car.
Do you guys think the five stars clutch bell is worth upgrading to.

Used it once and never again because it shrinks whilst drying and and stuffs exactly what i'm trying to protect.

Is it true that the 4mm chassis is tweak proof?
I think I'll need one for my RR Evo,which brand is the best?

Anyway, we have only used the Shimo chassis that came with the conversion kit.
Read back just a few pages to see some recently posted comments on others.

I doubt that the Simo chassi is tweak proof but having said that it is quite flexible so it has some give to it. With the Shimo chassi being milled so much for a 4mm chassi it has more flex that what i would have expected and more than i would like.
tweak proof ?
The Shimo chassis plate is actually LESS stiff to the hand when compared with the stock chassis plate. But it is also far lighter.
DO NOT bother with a 4mm chassis. I have seen them run on many V1RRs and the car never seems to have any advantage, and also the weight is increased.
I still am of the belief that the V1R does not need to be stiffened up significantly at the chassis if you are using the Shimo chassis and the graphite top deck.
