Xray NT1

The one thing that I disliked about the mugen was the SLOP in the arms after a couple runs. The upper arms would slide back and forth and the rear arms, would move too. After running my NT1, (2 club races (30min main), 2 events(45min and a 30min) and all the qualifiers and practice..over 2 gallons of running), I still have NO SLOP in the arms. I even cartwheeled my car at the 301 race this past weekend, coming out of the sweeper at full throttle, bounced it all the way to the back straight, and the car had no damage. The plasics are excellent. I had issues with stripping screw holes out on the Mugen, but with the Xray, even using an electric screw driver, I hadn't stripped one hole yet.

This was my first time racing in a year. I've only run nitro onroad. I ran a full nitro season in '04, electric only in '05 and 2 nitro races in '06. I remembered some stuff but mostly asked a lot of questions all weekend long.

i drived my RC Friend's NT1 in last weekend
he wanted that i advice for setup his NT1 after race.
his NT1's 2-speed timing is too fast..
But all setups are fine.

Were you tempted Gansei
I'll be posting a video from last weekend's nationals where you'll see some more action from various top UK racers. Just posted the A-Final from the recent Euros B License and you can see the scary speeds these guys were going - NT1s, MTX4s, RRRs and of course, the 720.

Anybody playing with the steering ackerman at all? I added a little ackerman to mine last week and it seemed to help the high-speed steering some.
I've been running JACO 38F and 40R tires, but I'm thinking of even trying 42R just for kicks since the car handles low traction conditions pretty well.

Well my first time running the NT1 this past weekend was pure fun. All I had was a box stock kit with a few extra gears (thanks Ralph/Barry/George). The car is near indestructable. It took a pinball action slam off the sweepers inside wall, hard into the outside wall and flipping down the track to pop a ball joint out of the front left steering hub. But boy was I amazed that after replacing the cracked hub (equaling the distance between joints from the right side), none of the camber/caster/toe settings changed on the front or rear.
The car simply planted and steered even while literally riding on the rear rims during practice at the end of the day on Saturday.
I found out that motor and body make a HUGE difference though and I'll have to make a better showing at the upcoming ROAR race at 301.
Maybe some MAX power this time instead of a hand me down...
Also thanks to Ralph's pit man (not sure of his name), Vince, James and all my VA Beach boys for a TON of help for this nitro noob.
Arun,
I actually reduced the ackerman and then slimmed up the front track width to 197mm to get better high speed steering and it seemed to work well.

Are there any hobby shops in the DC area with NT1 parts? I need a clutch bell.

C-Whits has our parts, give them a shout.
Or you may go online as Nexus carries a lot of our parts, as does Stormer, Ashford, Big Dad's Raceway and A-main.
You coming down here to our stomping grounds for the Sedan Nationals?

I might have to see about making it back to my 'ol stomping grounds (non-RC related of course) for the Nationals.

Rocco,
Unfortunately, I was just informed that all of the parts they ordered were special ordered by another driver. No problem though.
Nexus Racing bailed me out...
