In any case it seems to me that it is just a light updating of '15 version with minor modifications. I wouldn't advise a '15 owner to buy the '16 kit.

Agreed... I have a 2012 model and it's still more than competitive in my area. There's probably more to be gained by me working on my setup and driving than I'd get from a new car.

Just for heck of it I dusted off my Team Associated NTC3 (12 years+ old) last night and not to my surprise my lap times and results very similar to what i was getting with my NT1. I may not have won overall, but i get more enjoyment out of driving the dinosaur and getting these results than sinking money into the latest and greatest.

ive done quite well with my second hand 2009 heh. only changed bearings and some plastics over the years as i learned nitro. blew up some engines but the car was consistant the whole time.
im replacing it with a 2016 this year but ill prob have it til well into 202x with the changes that seem to be made to the platform.

that you can use 2016 parts on the 2009 is a win for the platform i think. I had considered upgrading my 2009 to use the 2014 wire swaybar but the cost of the bulkheads and arms for the front end would be pretty significant. add into that the replacment of bearings, 2spd parts and stuff it just makes more sense to sell the car to someone else intrested in nitro for a firesale price and get a new car.

i just wish electric cars were as stable.. the argument that rubber tires costs less is kind of horseshit if your racing big events and buying like 5 sets of them. running them once and putting them in the box..
