Update: Richard is making some improvements to the onroad track.

1. We put up boards at the end of the straight right at the sweeper. This brings in less dirt from the offroad track.

2. Thanks to Richard, Keita, and some of the locals: potholes (in the green and blue areas) in the track are being filled with asphalt. This helps with any loose gravel coming out onto the track.

3. Richard is adding more turns to the layout, to reduce some tire and definately engine wear for the 1/10th and 1/8th onroaders. He just added two turns on the left side straight (looking from the driver's stand) just before the long straight.

as it is right now the track is not bad. yes it could use some TLC but not bad
overall. Please let me have some more feedback.

Richard is making some changes, including the layout that includes some technical. i hope that what ever he changes would work. please make no mistake i have no investment on this. it just that it is sad to see a nice wide open track like SVM is not being utilize. for some of you who used to belong to this track(you know who you are) i need feedback.some of the local are taking time and effort to help.Richard,Kita And Kelvin are busting there butts off. changes are on the way. these guys are trying to make this an R/C enthusiast heaven. how can we get you to visit the locals here at SVM. Revelation and Crystal park are nice but don't you want a different menu sometimes? by the way Friday nights is always fun. Richard leaves the lights on for us. at times we fire up the grill and just kick it with the boys. come see us sometime.

It would be nice to have another track to go to. As Edwin said, we raced there a while back and it was fun. But I think we can encourage more people if the track weren't so huge. Crystal park size would be a lot better. In my opinion, being able to drive just inches from the board and maneuvering around the track (degree of difficulty) without having to shift to second gear to get to the next corner would make it more appealing too. The track is just too deep and the cars are too far away that you don't have the precision-driving feel.

I really want to but I have a schedule conflict. Had a bunch of fun at the one up here a couple weeks ago. Hopefully I can make it down to the last one in Vegas in September. I said it before, _that_ is the right idea for a race series. Fun racing for 2 days with t-shirt included all for $45!

This coming weekend I am working at MotoGP for the Ducati group. Have to head home now as I am pulling the engine out of mine for an emergency head gasket swap

Heck, it's been quite a while since I've been down. I've run 200mm, 235mm, and 1/8 scale on that track and I'd be lucky if I could remember one lap time

I try to stay objective ya know. It is a great track and Karlton had great vision initially. Unfortunately, this is how a lot of ailing tracks get started. It takes a tremndous amount of followup and perserverance to really "run" a track and few have been successful. My hat is off to anybody _actively_ pulling it off.

As for the local attitude, I think everybody is pretty cool. There are a couple of regulars I think had a "hey you outsider" attitude but for the most part the natives were great to hang out with. I am originally from SoCal so it kinda feels like coming home for me.

How about putting a chicane at the end of the straight? Just some board, maybe even some old tires, that would make the straight shorter and add some technical dificulty to the track. Sort of like the chicanes at the end of the Monza straight.

I think it would help for the track to organize some 2-3 days events with sponsors and trophies. That bassically brings people to the track that wouldnt otherwise go.

I will be starting to race soon and this is the closet track to me, so I would love to see it grow and get better.

A 2 day event would be nice, qualys on saturday and mains on sunday. Try to bring in some sponsors, theres plenty of RC companies in SoCal. Heck, I dont even need trophies, I just want to race.

Not a bad idea, I'll bring it up with Richard. But the sweeper at the end of the straight is pretty cool. I love watching the 1/8's taking the straight and throttling into the sweeper. Taking that out at the end of the straight is kinda like watchin a porno w/out the money shot.

Yeah for sure run that idea by him because by doing that he will be promoting his fuel, and I'm sure as soon as anyone trys this fuel they will change to it.
