How do u store your car?
Hi guys basic question - I have a 1:8 GP and I typically don’t remove the receiver battery in between use. I live in an apartment and space is limited thus the car sits inside a storage cupboard inside my rc bag.
All my other lipos i put inside a lipo fire safety bag but the car itself (with receiver lipo) doesn’t fit inside any such bag.
I know the risk is low if stored correctly (voltage wise) but theoretically if there was a lipo fire during storage there’s a lot around the car that could combust (incl the RC trolley bag that the car is in).
I therefore wanted to ask your views on storing the car (with tx lipo) without a lipo bag and what u do? (the obvious one being remove the lipo from the car and throw it in a bag - but I was thinking of more efficient solutions).
I can get a fire blanket for abt 20 bucks so was thinking to just keep the car with lipo wrapped inside that (inside my Rc trolley) - any other suggestions?
also I noticed for starter box, tx and rx lipos some ppl don’t bother putting these to storage mode in between use (I always do) - what do u do even with things as small as rx lipo (always to storage mode)?

I still use NiMh. Easy to charge, to maintain and totally no worries.

Coming from electric TC racing, I grew the habit of maintaining my LiPOs more than most of my nitro colleagues (still nowhere near as much as I used to when racing electric). I think the most harm you can do with a LiPO is to charge it fully and then not use it for days. That being said, If I race/practice for consecutive days I will just charge it the following day at the track, I won't store if I drove at least a tank or two because there's no need for it (storing is only discharging to a specific voltage anyway, it's important that it is not fully charged for a long time).
I always have one or two fresh receiver packs I use for racing, and these do get stored at the end of the race day until the following race. This is a procedure I follow with fresh good packs.
If I will race in the coming days, I'll keep the pack in the car (always disconnected, even with a switch) as it's more convient - however I always charge them outside the car. If I won't race for weeks or months, I'll take it out of the car and keep it in a controlled container or LiPO bag.
