What are they running at your local track, and what does your LHS Support?

I'm from Ukraine in my city we don't have a local track and LHS poor also, so I'm going to order from ebay/amain.

You advised engine for 500$, I'm looking for newbie engine, which price is ~150$ and has good outcome. I saw some one advice Novarossi Sturm but I'm not sure if it's good.

sturm are good for rookie and some club races, but you could add a little bit more for flash / keep on, could last you much longer though.

Here in Europe, Shepherd is involved with some Spec Motors, namely Sonic. The price is good too, and their store is in Europe. https://www.rccar24.com/artikeldet.php?proid=34002&sid=c133fa69047cbbc14f8 22dc66c17db17

The Picco is an engine with not a great life. I also would sugest a Sturm. 99 euro on some places and even fast enough. Last EC40+ there was a guy with that engine in the main final!

Roelo, what about the Picco P1-R Evo4 ??? does it too have a short lifespan? I had forgotten about the Stürm... part of the Nova Live range.

I do not know much about the 2.1cc but my local club is also running a stock engine and some Picco (Serpent) fanboys wanted to run the Picco PSS as well like the German Hobbycup. They are good and fast but all who have tryed them had same issues, no long lifespan. I know from the older .21 models like the EVO 2 and 3 that they can go on for a long time.

The Novarossi N12T1 now called the Sturm is a good and very affordable engine. With the .21 clas they are running the Novarossi ISON21 as stock engine but that same Serpent fanboy is now an OS fanboy and wants to add the new low budget OSMAX R21 on the list. I wonder if OS is also comming with an .12 low budget version.

My son had run the Brave, in 2wd 1:8 Pan and it did really good, both fuel mileage and longevity.

one would figure OS would do that, like the R21.

The Brave is a slow engine. OK, if all are running that one then there are no issues but the old type N21-5T with the 3 port exhaust was faster but its gone now and the Picco PSS is for sure a faster choice than the Brave. I know drivers who have tryed the PSS and did stick with the Brave due the higher costs of the PSS to keep it running.
So now for 2 years they have chosen the ISON21 because Novarossi is a reliable engine, of course all older stock engines on the list can also still be used but are no match for the ISON21.

I still have to get a brave in my hands to measure the timings, I am pretty sure the Brave is lower timed than the older N21-5T

For such a low price you can only buy used fast motors of the past that were tuned by murnan or Abmods....A good choice would be a used Picco .12 Evo 3 jlr red dot tuned......
