City imposed 11pm curfew may have something to do with it.

Frank I'm not sure if that's true or not. I think that's just a time someone came up with. To be honest the time constraint is proving to be a major pain as now gates are open at 3pm and racing at 5pm. Here in AZ that's the meat of the day. We've been lucky with the weather of late but the heat is coming!

Cya soon, hopefully. I'll try and make a trip up to your area for a race this year.

Frank. The noise ordinance for Phoenix is 11pm - 7am. Because there was complaints the city has imposed this on us.

That sucks. Damm tree huggers
That track is in the middle of fields backed up against the freeway. I learned in 2014 about the dust ordinance, and I thought CA was bad...

There are lots of homes/businesses in the area now. It's not in the middle of nowhere like The Pit was.

Same reason the city Phoenix closed down Manzanita Speedway. Probably one of the best 1/2 mile dirt ovals that side of the Mississippi. Had a lot of fond memories of the place.... and a couple scars.

Its becoming like that in a lot of places though, not just Phoenix. Damn shame as night racing is so much better in the summer than losing 10 pounds during the heat of the day. And yes, I know the DNC is in Feb....

If I had to guess it was the 1/5 cars that were heard from across the freeway. You can't heat the 1/8 cars from 200 yards away on Fear Farm property.

Bill some of those 1/5 scales are as loud as dirt bikes. Back home we had a track about 1/2 mile from my house and 8 bikes from my porch would sound like they were riding in my backyard.

Manzanita did not close because of the city, like everything it was money, they like tripled their money in 3 years. You are right tho, it was one of the best tracks in the country.
