I heard something like 5 1/5 scales got stolen, along with Tyker Vik's stuff and someone that had a nitro car stolen right out of their pit.

I am sorry if this seems offensive, but do you guys just not keep up with your stuff? Even at my local races with everybody I know I still keep an eye on my stuff all the time. I dont get super spread out either. Never had anything stolen while at the track. I have to much money in all of this stuff to let some John Doe off the street just walk up and take it. If I dont have an eye on my stuff I know someone I trust does. Seems to me to be common sense to protect this stuff.

I don't worry with it too much. I know there is the possibility that someone unknown could walk up and walk off with my stuff....but I try to pit with those who I know and we all try to keep an eye out for people wandering and touching. BUT....its no where near a perfect strategy.

I just refuse to lock and hide my stuff constantly all day. Guess I am a risk taker. lol.

At a large race like DNC....I could see maybe taking an extra step or two to ensure everything stays where it should. Unfortunate that we have to do that.

There has been issues at Fear Farm the last couple of weeks leading up to DNC with theft and shady characters. This is my 10th DNC and this was the first time I locked my trailer and put my keys in my pit bag when I raced or pitted a friend. We are trying to figure out the person or persons that are ruining a great event. Whoever it is has been there on club nights scoping the place out.

Sad that that has to be done. Makes the hobby that much harder to get people into when you see security guards and teams of bodyguard-like guys protecting pit areas. Locally we dont have to much problem with that but I still am careful about my stuff. I read that Vick thinks that whoever got all of his stuff knew what they were getting their hands on. That would make sense if they have had issues the last few weeks with people scoping the place and the stuff that is around there.
