Strange things happen in a race for example Phend at the Roar nats undoubtedly the fastest guy on the track, he gets bad luck with a marshal and is out of the hunt. I see your point but I think maifield could pull a cat out of the hat.

Maifield is not the kind of driver who needs to pull tricks out of hats.. He's a perennial contender at the very top. Even driving AE's...

He'd need 5-6 other people to have bad luck / problems, meanwhile everyone else from 6th-12th in a final also not competing, not going to happen.

JQ, Leino, Lee Martin, Lutz, all those guys have just as good a chance as Maifield IMHO.

I dont think JQ will make the final but you never know. Lee Martin has good consistency but he just isnt at the level of tessman and Hara. Maifield will be competitive. Im not saying he will win but IMO he will be top 5.

Tessman. Battle. Ronnefalk. Bloomfield. Tebo. Cody King. Hara... list is fairly long, could go on as well.

Also, people who get so upset at not winning that they don't want to go pick up their trophy.. well.. children.

Will Maifield beat JQ or not, that's the question.
You are obviously entitled to your opinion but I think others are having trouble understanding your logic in coming up with this. Looking at results how is bloomfield a better driver than Maifield for example?

Bloomfield finished 21st at Silver state and was in the C main at Nitro Challenge this Year.

I would definitely put Maifield in the Top 5 for worlds and has a great shot to win.

Bloomfield was European champion 2012. Meaning he beat Battle, Ronnefalk, etc, in order to win that title.

Not surprised that he wasn't too serious about some race he went to in the US to have some fun.

Congrats JQ, somebody thinks you will be battling Maifield in the final!

In 2011 Maifield won ROAR Nationals beating Tessmann and Phend.

Ok, I give up. Maifield will win the worlds by 6 laps and there'll be no European or Asian drivers in the final

Anyway, a guy who gets upset because he didn't win and refuses to go pick up his trophy isn't on my top list of favourite drivers.
I can't really see how that would charm others either.

Who gives a c.rap? Is he a competitive racer going all out to win, or trying to become president of the boy scouts?

It cracks me up how some are underestimating and down playing maifield. These worlds are going to be very interesting.

Well from the talk on here if there was a sports book I would think Maifield would be one killer value bet. I think him with up to date Losi Nitro program and his drive to win...he would be in my top three to win. I would include Tessman and long shot Martin. Interesting that Tebo and King are not getting much love here too. Lots of great drivers....going to be a fun worlds.
