I have a set of VRP pistons as I have used them in different cars before and really like them. I ran 6x1.3 with the soft bladders and as little rebound as I could get (about 10% front and rear) last Saturday and really liked the way the car handled. I added weight to the back to experiment and the car did not want to rotate. That said, I only ran the main and started last - sometimes the best position to avoid first lap mayhem. Picked off seven positions to finish 3rd with my first race with the car; even with having to rotate the car on the brakes to get it around tight corners. I am running 7/5/3 in the diffs and am really liking that setup diff wise.

Haha! Nice! Starting from the back, going to third is pretty bad azz.
I had a similar issue with corner rotation once I did the MIP pistons (6x1.35, 550F-450R), they created too much traction overall at first. I went one compound harder on my tires and it was perfect, plus tires now last longer and stay more consistent. I also added weight at the back of the car initially, but took it off after testing with harder compound tires, as it was no longer needed. I'm currently running 6-6-3 in the diffs. My consistency ratio %, on Live RC scoring/lap times from the last race, was at 96% with this setup.

Just sold my MP10 to try this buggy, I hope to be in for a treat!!!! My MP10 was money, I just always been curious about the X Ray line of vehicles and before I start racing heavy again..I had to give it a try. The few here Ive seen here in Ca look strong.

Good buggy but man the price on parts and bodies is ridiculous and don’t bother emailing RCAmerica if a kit is missing a part or not machined correctly they will fight you all the way to not have to make it right. Just my experience looking to move to the snake.

How is the stock kit setup?

Its good! Follow the kit setup to an exact T, then order the 4 DOT front spings. Its a very neutral setup out of the box, but if you run on high traction adding some of the chassis stiffening options would be recommended, mostly for responsiveness.

I'd try the stock setup first though.
If you run it as PBS the car is bulletproof, but if you run as C-hub be sure to get at least the medium lower arms for the front (more durable), there's also a soft option.

Kit will be here Thursday, and I cant wait to build it. This will be my first xray build. The roll center, anti squat, inserts are kinda confusing.

Once you get going on the build, I think you will be good. The manual is pretty easy to follow once you have parts in hand. If you have questions, post'em here, I'll check in next couple days. Pay close attention to when it says add grease, especially on the diff build so they will last a long time for you.

The build is really smooth, a bunch of pros and a couple of cons. Best build for sure quality of parts is A1.
