He could run split contract deals for both on and off-road - plenty of racers do it.

As someone else said, may have been led there by Amain hobbies (if the photo is anything to go by, which has the hara-colour decal he ran a couple of months ago on the sworkz he piloted)

I would hope amain's greed wouldn't persuade him. They don't have a truggy, which he runs when he's in the states I mean..

+1

Having said that, can't recall ever seeing Hara wheel a truggy

Would be nice to see a move to sworkz, given their ties with OS Japan for their engines.

A signing like this would be exactly what this under-estimated brand needs.

I don't think its underestimated. It's just one of those Off brands that has no spotlight like Agama, RB, Intech, JQ etc. Hara can win with anything though so if he did sign with them they will be selling more buggies for sure. It's really hard to get the majority of racers away from the Big 4 brand names. Its nice to see one of the small fries taking that big step with a top name driver.

S works is based entirely off Mugen. It's been like that from the beggining. I remember when they first hit the market and signed a bunch of team drivers. There were quite a few issues and even the team manager was telling people to swap out this and that for Mugen parts. I believe they have since cured all the issues. I don't know if they changed that weird chassis design on the buggy though. It had rear kick up and the rear of the chassis was angled up like the front. It made it almost impossible to prevent the ass end from stepping out. There were a few locals on the team who promptly sold the buggies that like I said that was a couple of years ago and I'm sure it's pretty dialed now.

I don't think it is fair to call S-Workz "small fries" when the buggy is built right next to other 'big name' buggies like Mugen, etc, using same machines, same materials, and under the same roof. Not to mention it probably was co-engineered by said factory off design and geometry of other proven winning vehicles. S-Workz/Speed Master also has the significant advantage of already being distributed by one of the largest online retailers in the RC world, which in itself is already a huge win given all the resources A Main has. Case and point: A Main pushing Hara to S-Workz so A-Main can grow their product.

The newer cars have a flat rear chassis. A couple of guys at our local track run them and are fast with them. They both came from Mugens and say they handle similarly for obvious reason.

If this kid puts that car on the Podium in the US and overseas, you're going to see a lot more of that car. Nice looking stuff right there....but then I'm partial to the Moogs.
