The new spur gear is awesome, with the old one after a couple of tanks off hard driving you could really see the wear in the spur, however I have had the new one for 2 weeks, run about 15 tanks off fuel and no sign of wear at all.
Tekno spur gear problem is now well and truely fixed.

I run stock setup it's been that good that I haven't had to change it. The only thing I've played with is diffs. I've tried 15/15/7 12/12/6 and 12/15/7. I like 15/15/7 the best.

10/15/5 , pink front springs and 10 degree hubs. I just keep dialing in steering
because it has so much rear grip. There pretty darn good how the come out
of the box. I don't recommended the 20/20/10 diff setup though.

I find the lower the diff fluids the more aggressive the truck gets. Presently using 7, 10, 5 at Fear Farm which is a very large flowing track. Personally love the 10 degree hubs on smaller tight tracks with lots of 180's.

Rob. Yep switched to Tekno and loving them. Real fast and very durable. In AZ for 8 months. Nice and warm and running 1-2 times/week. Hope everything is well with you.

Well now you're rubbing it in. I drove Brian's, nice truck. I need a little more time with one before I can decide to change. My health is just now changing for the better so hopefully racing will be happening again next yr. Hope to see you again soon.

Default Help with clutch

Folks

Had my first club race with my new used NT48. Handles well but I am having clutch issues. I have one of Ryan's Worlds engines that is a bit tight.

Using a Losi clutch. Clutch nut loosened and ate the collet.
Have to use a heat gun to warm engine even in AZ so the OFNA starter box will turn the motor over.
Any thoughts as to the cause and cure?
I do use set up Locktite and a fair amount of hand strength.

Is the Tekno clutch better? Or just really tighten the clutch nut?

Thank you

MartinB,

I don't personally have any experience with that engine or clutch that you have, but I would just say that as long as you are using the collet that comes with the Losi clutch, and the crank on the motor and the "seat" of the actual clutch flywheel (where the collet sits) is not damaged or "spun" in any way, you should not have any issues.

If I was in your shoes, and still have the original Tekno clutch from the box, I would throw that in (maybe less down time and no need to buy any new Losi clutch parts)...using 100% components of the Tekno clutch (especially the collet).

From what I see, the Tekno clutch and Losi clutch are quite similar, so I don't think you will notice a major performance changes.

If the engine is that tight (how new is it?), I would definitely continue to pre-heat it...

I hope this helps.

Has any body tried running the engine in the rear position, and if so how did it effect the overall characteristics of the truggy.
