Iv heard great things on this setup but time will tell. Tekno is the best on the market. Its like legal cheating they just flat out fly.

Drews, it would appear that way, but I bought the NB48 thirdhand from here in Australia. My son the driver had a factory drive with another brand (Cars, all parts all free!) We had just won a race on a Sunday and borrowed the Tekno off another driver on the Monday to test. The person we borrowed the car off was the second owner and hadn't even driven the car himself!!
The Tekno was more than a second a lap faster than our present car.:) After the car was cleaned and our motor / electronics removed we jokingly asked the second owner if he wanted to sell it, he said yes and we did a deal. We got a complete EB48 included as well!! I had sent a queery to coast2coast but got no reply. I called them a few days later and spoke to them, That night I ordered an NT48 through them, got it 3 days later. The original owner of the NB48 and EB48 was at the track and told us where he had brought it from-FierceRC. He had bought it when the $ was above parity with the US, therefore making it cheaper even with shipping! There you have it we had a full factory drive and won many races with it but we needed a change, hence now we pay for everything again.......... |

So your paying for retail for cars, parts, radios, tyres, motors and fuel Darrin? Unless you are you aren't quite back to "reality" like some are quite yet...
See Rob when you win and have consistent good results sponsors actually come forward and ask you to use their product. Some are free, some heavily discounted. We have been asked to use some products for free which didn't work for us, therefore I'm happy to pay for something that suits us rather than get something for free that doesn't:nod: Still have sponsors for Tyres, Radio/ Electronics, motors, the car and you know which brand we were running isn't having any development work done on it now and was becoming uncompetitative. I have 7 chassis in the RC room that I got from the factory and customised, some were blanks that I drilled and milled and bent up to change the weight distribution and layout. All we believe were faster than the original, but someone buying that car wasn't going to get the same as what we had:) |
Hi fellas i have a NB48 for sale in the Australian for sale thread.

What i see: new arms (f and r), new toe blocks (all four), uni's, new caster blocks, new rear hubs (Al), new camber links, new brake linkages (maybe frankenparts from other vendor), new wing mount, "new" shock towers and shocks. Enough to pack it all into NB48.2.

Darrin,
I understand how sponsorship works. If your only paying retail for cars and spares your still getting away cheaply. |
Edited to add the word retail.

cant wait to drive this car in 2 weeks hurry up and get here lol

Like the updates. I wished they'd changed the hangers/blocks to use cap head screws (2.5mm) rather than keep the countersunk 2.0mm screws, minor complaint tho.

Still better than Xray's phillips-head drywall screw to hold the case together, imo... |
Truggy swaybars as well.
|
I can't believe how far out on the arm they are running the lower shock mounts.
|
hope they get the parts as a updated kit parts…. not a hole new kit… just purchase a new nb48

The only thing that I would really like to see would be Booted rear drive shafts.

If and when the new parts are released you'll be able to upgrade the car as the parts are interchangeable.

I am sure they are testing CVDs and universals. you will probably see standard bones and axles as well in the future. I am currently looking around at options that will allow bones/axles for summer time to run on Derek's cars in the right conditions.
|
Any idea of a release date on the new car??
|
Not anytime soon, if there is a new car.
|
I would not hold off on buying a nitro kit if you hope to run this spring. There is no confirmed kit on the way, only prototype parts being tested. Tekno decided DNC was too big to hide everything so they just decided to roll with it. Lots of manufacturers test parts that don't end up in production and there is no guarantee any or all of the parts seen at DNC will be released either as individual parts or as kits so rest assured if you buy a kit it won't be obsolete any time soon. It takes months for molds to be made, products shipped, reach distributors, new instruction manuals, etc... So go get that nb48, you won't be let down!
