Hi KThatcher, Morgoth please chime in too?
I have some questions for you guys re CSI setups since from waht i csn see you guys almost exclusively run CSI stuff.
I have been running 1.2x8 for a while now and i like it. I do have Blue V2 csi pistons that i got a while back and want to try them again. Do you guys run the csi bladder too? I have a set of black ones i want to try. What would your advice be for medium to high grip, tightish tracks that arent the smoothest at times out there but not that bumpy either. Im kind off looking for the middle ground.
I did ryn the csi's on my x6 and JQ but havent really gotten into them with the x7.
What are your rebound settings usually? I always build my stock shocks dead but hear that wont be possible with csi bladder. I know a dead shock isnt the best idea on bumpy tracks but i do it for consistency sake. Rebound especially with the csi bladder if you use them please. To give you an idee, i usually run AE 45/40 or 50/45 oils with the 1.2x8 piston depending on temp. In summer it gets 30* C+here..it hangs around 20 atm. I run the black springs always. 9.0-10.75
Advice would be greatly appreciated if you can.

I would start with the same oils you used with the 8h. I'm just now experimenting with rebound settings. I use the mp9 bladders (although I have tried csi's)

Just send it back to me and I should be able to repair it for you...I only really offer my repair services to Clockwork customers so many may not be aware of how capable I am at repairing engines..I have the best of the best of pinching tooling( Raya Racing ) as well as multiple custom piston repair tools with many years experience using them.... My process is too time consuming to offer it commercially, but I hate seeing a customer lose a engine for something so silly...so please send that engine back here so I can see if it can be repaired....

Thanks, what were your experiences with the csi bladders? They feel quite firm in there compared to stock and rebound a lot more

When you set the rebound with the csi shocks, i was recomended by Erik from csi to set it with very little rebound, 1/4" fuel tube on shaft almost no rebound when set. Not sure if that is the same running mugen shocks but same bladders and bacically same pistons.

You should maybe email Erik from csi, he would have a heap of data with his shock dyno by now.

Well my update to my first BCE chassis. I freaking love it. I dont know how, but the car felt totally different. Very good through the bumps, very good through corners. Just felt better to me. I am sold on it. The car was planted all day, props to BCE. Good stuff.

Anyone having issues with the stock screws stripping? I guess I need to order some better than stock screws.

I'd recommend 50/45 for the CSI pistons with the black bladders and set the rebound to 12mm using fuel tubing so that each shock is the same. If you're running the CSI shocks set the rebound using the same method as above and no the shock shaft will push itself out to 12mm when compressing the shock shaft in but it will be fine on the track.

just kidding, but just check your tips anyway. i have not had issues with the stock screws personally and i use hand tools as well as a cordless with some bits.

Joey,

I'm glad you're loving the BCE chassis. Bill is also working on one for the E side of the house.

Len,
Glad you like it. It does feel like a different car, and the chassis will last much longer then stock.

I am running a Nova plus 4 btt in my X7 with a buku clutch and didn't have to "shave" the mounting tab to get the engine to fit right. Another plus to the BCE chassis.

Which black springs would you guys recommend for a loose bumpy track with some medium sized jumps?
