NEW AGAMA A8 TRUGGY
#781
In using the dual motor dynamite box with protek lipo. Good box comparable to ofna but a change from all the blue ones in pit lane.

Those cheap starter boxes are an Integy brand. We will have them in stock soon. I got a chance to test one for a few months and it worked well. Not in league with the Ofna 10244 but very satisfactory for half the price. And now for my race report;
Dropped the Truggy down at about 9:30am this morning for her first ever track drive. New layout, new Truggy, no water and I have not driven an RC car since August so I was not expecting much today. The truck was more than I had anticipated and then some. It does indeed steer like a buggy after a few small tweaks to my set up and I was grinning ear to ear even though my driving was horrible. Got about 3 tanks of practice on the dry track with hardly no traction at all so I had to baby it around the track. Finally got 1/2 tank wet track practice right before they shut the track down for the start and all was golden. I find this Truggy truly amazing. First quali still had lots of rust and cobwebs and I think I finished last in my heat. We had 2 heats of open truck with a total of 17 entries. Second quali I started to remember how to drive and took 2nd in the heat and wound up 7th overal out of 17 and a trip to the A main. Got a clean start and quickly passed all but the holeshot TQ and then ran about 6 laps staying in the 2nd 3rd and forth position depending on when I remembered to be smooth and steady or an aggressive crashing idiot. Crossed the loop on the 7th lap or so into our huge double and after the landing had no more steering. The cheap ass $3 servo horn snapped right in half ending my race day. No fault of the truck, just my stupidity for making the wrong choice for a servo horn. The truck is everything and then some and it will taking podiums for a long time to come. I would recommend it to anyone without hesitation. I had some really bad crashes and it took everything I put it through with just a small crack in the Upgrade Wing I chose to use. I can't wait to get it on the track again!

Only asking becasue my mates starter box for his losi converts with seconds from buggy to truggy..didn't ask which starter box he had though..

Out of curiosity I set up one of my extra dynamite boxes this morn to work for both truck and buggy. It was as easy to do as any starter box setup. I placed the pins so they are at the tip of the truck mud guards in the front and rear. Bumped it a few times and tossed the buggy on and it hit the wheel perfect. The rear pins don't lock it on like the truck but are still a guide as the front pins do the alignment for the buggy.
So one box is 100% doable for both the a8 and a8t. As I said I use the dynamite dual motor box. I think the ofna blue has similar setup options.
I will still carry two boxes to be on the safe side in case of failure of one.

James, that drop down that you have off your servo horn was most likely the cause. All that did was add leverage to cause a twisting effect on your servo horn. You must have a hell of a tall servo to have to do all that or it's spaced way up. I'm running savox 1256 steering servos with hudy horns in all my agamas and the steering link is nearly perfectly level.

Hitech 7955 servo with 1mm spacer under it and rubber grommets. Our track has insane air and the servos need to be spaced up off the chassis as far as possible. Any car I have raced here if the servos are too close to the chassis they will bottom out on the big jumps and after a few slaps, they are toast. I agree with you that that huge drop down was definitely my issue. I found a drop down servo horn that serpent makes and I am going to raise the link a little on the servo saver arm to get it all more secure and still be able to keep my servo away from the chassis.
