I have the pleasure to race with Gene all the time in Florida and he is definitely a class act! He is always ready to help you with any questions or setup advice you need. Plus his service and products are great and he always stands behind whatever he sells to you.

I cant recommend a tire without knowing your track, but the best choices of tires from VP pro are Axeman, Blades, Turbo Traxx and Grips in no particular order. If you are not racing competitively than its always nice to get some cheap tires for whatever you want to use them for.

axeman are the safest bet for all around good tires but I dont think any of those will be on the blow out. I have used the Bulldogs and mad runners on really loose blown out tracks and they worked really well. I've never run a tire in any compound over medium.

VP PRO tires. I bought some MF and UF tires and I was just about to mount them on rims and I noticed that they both feel the same. What color dot is used on the tires for grading.
Red = low flex
yellow = med flex
what color is Ultra flex?

not really sure but I think its silver or white. I have a set that looks like silver and it is softer than the reds that I normally use.

From my experience the compounds are probably different depending on the tire model (designed that way because there's only so soft you can go before the tire can't handle it, so the compounds are changed). I.E. - An UF Cutoff won't feel like an UF TurboTrax.

Are they the same model? Like both are Blades in different compounds, or one is a Blade and one is a Axeman?

Welcome back Eddie.
The strikers are a really good tire for most tracks in medium.
And you will find them on sale alot.The blade in frnt and axeman in rear is a killer combo for racing longer mains.That's what I used at the nationals at mikes in porter TX

I use Axeman pretty much every where, when the temp is up go to a MF for the mains. Other than that its Axe in UF everywhere. Turbo Trax UF is the only other tire I use on a damp track with ruts.
