Hi guys, my name is Mike McDade and I distributed Bill's chassis' in NZ and Australia. Still can't believe he has gone. We spent hours over the last few years on the phone talking not just rc but life sh1t in general. He was really supportive of me when my sister was sick and eventually passed. We had many conversations about his health and his love of NZ manuka honey!

We are now looking to clear the last of Bill's chassis that we have in stock and thought we could give some of the International guys the chance to grab what is probably some of the last remaining stock available.

Pricing will be $USD120.00 including shipping. If you are keen just PM me your details and we can go from there.

This is what is currently available -

Xray 808-10 spec buggy
Xray 808-11 spec buggy
Xray XB9 buggy
Kyosho MP9 buggy
Serpent 811 buggy
Serpent 811 truggy
TA RC8 truggy
Losi 2.0 truggy
Mugen MBX6 buggy (standard length and X3)

Cheers

Mike.

Speedy,

Many of the BCE chassis had sides that were tilted up.

I worked with Bill a little bit on design stuff, and this was a feature he tried to achieve as long as the rest of the car would accommodate it. The idea is that the side guards would be higher up and not scrape along the ground as easy. I thought it was a valid point - just look at some of the off road cars with straight side guards and see how scratched up they get.

I hope that this answers your question.

No, I mean is the bottom flat in the center part
or is it in a bow because of the tilting of the sides ?
I ask because another firm, states their cnc chassis is curved in the center because of that maching of the sideguards...

Thats pretty normal for good 7075T6. Bolt it together and run it a few times and they usually flatten out. I used to get it all the time when I was making chassis. I wouldn't let it bother you.

There's a few reasons it happens.
1, tension caused during the folding of the side rails.
2, heat produced during milling all the pockets in the top of the chassis.
3, alot of the stock is bowed from manufacturer. It happens during extrusion.

Most new losi chassis usually have a bow like you've pictured straight out of the box. They have quite a high degree fold along the sides of their chassis before they mill them.

You see the two answers you get from someone who knows n someone who doesn't!! This is why it's so important to try things for yourself!!
