That 350 should be your backup. Only if all others have issues. You can still race but it will not be ideal. The .28 will be a bit over powered but with practice you can get consistent. I imagine your clutch will wear faster, but each person is different in clutch wear.
As for a .21 they are perfect for a truggy. Mileage, power, and consistency all come together with a good .21. Five ports and seven ports work well. Your pipe selection will change the power band and the pros will let you know what works best. I really like the Novarossi Plus4's with 053 pipes and a 3-shoe (aluminum and carbon) clutch with 1.0 springs. However, last season I found great succes with the Fusion X7 engine. Still a .21 but more overall power than the Plus 4....top and bottom. For the most part, if you plan on racing I'd suggest a .21. If you plan on just bashing a .28 will fit better. |

Im thinking about using a .21 to power my 8T, have any of you tried a .21 and what are your thoughts? Run time compared to a .28 and power difference? What would you choose. Mine is coming with a OS .28 and I have an extra Losi 350 in the tool box so I can try both.
I think even for bashing the .21 is a good choice because it is more economical and if you're bashing you want to bring down the price of your consumables like fuel. Less fuel you use, cheaper the hobby is to enjoy. |
just pick one up from a main:lol::lol:

The rear diff will be notchy feeling the first several full tanks of fuel. After that when at home cleaning, check the rear mesh by pulling the rear cover. Check it your first couple of cleanings then it will br fine.
Also keep an eye on clutch bell/spur gear mesh. Improper alignment will cause fast wear. |
set it by the book?

I run Losi buggy and this will be my first season with a truggy as well. I was looking into getting another starter box or buy the Losi 8IGHT/8IGHT-T 2.0 Universal Starter Box. This way I could run two cars one starter box.
[LOSA99059] However reviews are mixed saying great power but uses belts left and right. Ive never had a problem out of the Purple starter box. Any other thoughts? |

I used the Losi box several years ago. But I race enough that it made sense to use one box for each. That is my opinion. I use the blue Ofna truggy start for each vehicle, and they have been problem free for three years now. Dead reliable and strong. That's my recommendation.

thanks more tips?
