Only issue I had with the modded plastic rear hubs were that it weakens the outer edge when you enlargin it and I broke one and then went to KHZ and no more issues....saying that it was with my much heavier electric truggy.

It appears that the tapered shaft of the engine is too thick and wont allow me to slide the Losi collet sufficiently down the shaft. When I spread the collet out it seems to break... I almost broke my 2nd collet.

just slide the collet on as far as it will go by hand then insert a small blade srewdriver in the slot of the collet. if you need a little more gap just twist the driver a bit..

I believe your trying to put the losi collet over the nova Collet. Novas come with there own black collet but it doesn't work with the losi clutch. Remove the black collet that's sitting on the shaft and put the losi one on. A very small screwdriver is thick enough to spread the losi collet on and slide it over the shaft. Imo I would buy another collet since you spread your current one so much. It's 3 bucks and its not worth to risk it slipping.

BTW sharing my experience today.I'm running the v2 tower with the camber link in the inner hole on the hub and I was using the lower inner hole on the tower. Today I tried the lower outer hole,it gave me more steering entering the corner and it rotated even better. My first Qual. I had my original setup and in 7 min I did 9 laps.in my second Qual I tried my new camber setting and I hit ten laps with ease. My clutch bell blew at the start of my main which sucked cause A. Drake came out and I was lookin foward to racing with him.

Thanks man, you're right! Unfortunately I made this discovery way too late. Is this the part? seems the losi collet is a 10th scale part as well -

I just rebuilt my rear diff as well. One huge point is when rebuilding use all new parts. Bulkhead, r&p and bearings. When shimming, one side of r&p you should feel the teeth tighter than the other when rolling the axle by hand(make sure its installed and fully assembled, all screws tight). If its too tight like locked up all the way around disassemble and remove shim/s as well as too loose add them. dont rush it

I sifted through some of the thread but it's way too long to digest it all.

Does anyone have a good suspension set up for a high bite, tight indoor clay track?

I'st an electric conversion if that changes anything. It's slow to turn, but will carry the front tires on the straightaways. I'd like to get the front end to settle down a little bit and turn tighter.

killing clutch bearings

For some reason I keep killing the front bearing on my 4 shoe losi clutch in my 2.0 truggy and buggy. It came down to the point that I had to change them after every 15min of run time. That equaled to 2-5min quals then change the front bearing to run a 15min main so it would be reliable, (sometimes it wouldn't even make it through the whole main), then toss that one away so it was ready for the next club race just to repeat the same process all over again. Is this a common thing with this clutch? Got so frustrated that I went back to a 3 shoe in the buggy and have not had a problem since, but still run the 4 shoe in truck. I would really love to go back to the 4 shoe because of its smoothness tuneability and also because of the fact that I have about 8 sets of brand new shoes.

BTW, my clutch setup was Answer shoes w/ 2-0.9 and 2-1.0 springs in buggy and same shoes w/ 2-1.0 and 2-1.1 springs in truggy.

either your cluchbell play on crank is to much or your mesh is to tight on clutch to spur, i have found that very very little play on crank is the best way to go, to much play will wear out a bearing QUICK, also dont be affraid to loosein up the mesh between bell and spur a touch more, to tight will cause heat and also strain on the front bearing.

So what your saying is that neither of the Avid or Answer bearings that I use aren't any good. They seem to work flawlessly in my 3 shoe setup on my buggy which has run almost a whole gallon on the same bearings.

ive tried $1 bearings with a 4 shoe alum clutch on my 1.0 t and they never lasted before 1 gallon .

do you run 2 plastic /2 alum shoe setup ? if so $1 bearings could last pretty long from my experience with my eight 1.0 i used to drive.
