I’d like to know what's minimum measurement I can go to before replacing shoes.

Can you try measuring the outer tips of the shoes instead of the center. I think that is how it's done. I don't know if the measurement will change but maybe it will.

I wanna say that Adam Drake said 23.7mm is when they need replacing, but I use them far longer than that and have no problems. Then again I'm not Adam Drake. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong on that measurement!

23.4mm sticks in my mind for some reason.

yeah that's it 23.4mm:nod:

You can run for a while after that though.

But you shouldn't.....that # is set for a reason. When you go past that, Your slipping the clutch and causing excessive heat that will take out your bearing's faster along with cause an inconsistent feel to the clutch....Toss em at 23.4 and be happy to have a fresh new set-up....Also check your flywheels for excessive wear where the spring's sit....Once the scar is too deep your Loosing tension on the spring's which again leads to a saggy clutch.

A clutch will tell you lots of thing's if you take the time to look at it.

I think this stuff was posted a while back, and I think it was 23.4mm just like you said

What clutch bearings do you all use? I use TKO because they last a really long time.

GMS_Racing 11-21-2010 05:54 AM

Yes springs wear out and lose tension. Sometimes they will even break if they get hot enough.
