Hmmm. Mine turns well. Not looking for more steering in truggy, actually could stand less in buggy.

I would go 35wt, so you dont get that bounce effect in front.

You don't want to go lighter in oil to compensate for a stiff spring. That will result in a very bouncy suspension package. Honestly purple springs are really really stiff for the front of the truck, even for the rear they are too stiff in most cases. You don't have ANY other springs?
If you have to run the purple springs, 30-35wt oil with 55 pistons is what I would try. Honestly that's just a shot in the dark though as I haven't even attempted to run the purple springs up front. |
maybe the 56 hole with 30wt and purple springs up front?...what do you guys think?

I am inspired for next year. I just got everything to convert to the race roller and some hitec high voltage servos 5685/7954SH for my soon-to-not-be RTR. Its not the cheap way to go about this but I didn't buy the truck with any serious intentions at first. Sluggo is actually the guy that talked me into buying the truck on a whim less than a year ago.
I am going to transfer to the new chassis and go with a setup sheet (havn't decided which one yet) and go from there in the spring. Sluggo - the Toronto Hobby Show wasn't anything special but I did pick up two deals on trucks that were on my list. Buying one RC makes any show worthwhile. My wife bought me a race roller for our anniversary so we have 2 now for next race season. For Hardcore the Drake setup works great, just clutch to your liking. Tires will be the huge differance there. |

Front and rear springs are the same on the 2.0. Run the grey springs in the front and the purple springs in the rear. A normal oil setup may work alright with that spring setup. If you only have 54 and 56 pistons I would run 54's in the front 56's in the rear with 40wt oil in the front and 35wt oil in the rear. That would be my best guess as to what will work for ya.;)

Hitec 7940 and 7950
Wondering if i should run the 7940 for both throttle and steering in my truggy. The 7940 is rated at .06 sec and 222 oz/in. Do you think it will handle the steering duties or should I go to the 7950 at .13 sec and 486 oz/in?
I like the speed of the 7940 @ 7.4 volts. |
