I heard the stock plastic spindles could also be ground down? has anyone done this?

i would suggest doing the caster block, not the spindle.

It works fine on the plastic, with no noticeable loss to durability.

I would use a carbide cutter and some calipers

I have with no problems. Never measured how much I took off or what is left. I just hit them a mil or 2.

same with me. Billy Fisher showed me this and since then ive been doing it. i didnt do it on my new truggy yet tho and i can notice a difference

What I did wouldn't come out in a picture, because when you take away black material from the spindle, you're left with the remaining black material. Since it's black to begin with and you're left with black after grinding, it won't photograph well enough to see what has been removed. Just do it this way...look to see where the spindle hits the spindle carrier at full steering lock and remove just enough material off of the spindle so it doesn't hit the carrier at full lock.

rear diff......so i stripped the pinion gear and the ring gear....just wondering if there should be any play on the pinion after installing driveshaft

Pinion needs to be tight against the bearings along with the pinion output on the case, So No play what so ever....Dont Crush it together but no play.

Hey guys just picked up a 8 t 2.0 roller, wondering which shock springs to use.. my track is smooth and tight, just a few jumps... nothing crazy

How do you get it tight? Do you put the shaft coupler on the pinion shaft before you assemble the diff case? Mine always has a little forward play in it.....
