Hey Speakin of the DX3R radios...How long do you guys get out of the 3100 receivers that come with them?? Do you just run them til they die and you get a DNF? I was practicing the other day and lost throttle responce a few times and thought it was possibly the receiver, or suspected the servo was going out. I put in my back up 7955 and had no more problems. So it was surprisingly the 7955 (2nd throttle Ive lost in 2yrs) not bad but not great either. Anyways just wondering if guys replace high end receivers after a certain amount of run time?

Strange..I've never had a receiver fail..ever..26 years and I've never had one fail..knocking on wood as I'm writing this....I've had a few hitec servos go out..

Steve, Wasn't there a post about some possible Futaba Frequency interference a while back. Rick mentioned it to me today.

What's the verdict on AKA foams being used on Proline VTR Rims with Caliber tires?

I don't see why not. The main difference On the Proline vtr rim is how the tire glues to the wheel. It's more like a buggy wheel than a truggy wheel.
Dave you coming to cvr tomorrow or well today now? I read W is dose t wanna get dirty. Hahaha :D

Not going to be there. Got the grandkids for 2 days. Pumpkin carving and all that. I got some practice in today though. I need to spruce up my drivin' a bit.

What do you do for tires. Do you mess around with pulling foams, cleaning rims and buying just tires and re-gluing?

I've got a SR3100 sent to Horizon now. I'll let you all know what they do.

I sent a reciever and module in last year for repair and got a new case installed and the module wire fixed at no charge. Not even charged for shipping.

Right on dave have fun carving. I took my kids to the pumpkin patch last night and brought home some 40lb pumpkins :D

I buy pre mounts every chance I can. These tires don't last long enough to mess around with glueing. I can add that the foams make a difference. I did a test on the buggy with the same tires and rims and different foams and j cod actually tell a difference. Idk if it would be as noticeable on a truggy though. But I hate gluing tires.

I'm thinking of converting to LiPo RX packs for my Truggy. I have questions.

When running on a LiPo RX around the track for a while, what is considered the be a low voltage which damages the battery?

How do you know that you've reached that Low Voltage point and should stop the car and re-charge so as not to damage the battery?

I've been told that on Electric Cars, there is an ESC with an automatic cut-off that can be programmed to a certain voltage so as not to damage the LiPo battery but is there a way to do it for nitro?

VTR's being a little narrower will make the bead feel extra stiff with a PL tire.

I feel its Extremely noticeable in truggy pending what foam's your running.

Ive ran a variety of foams in a variety of tires and imo they all have their strong/weak points.

I've yet to have one fail so I couldn't help with that one. Never even had one of the original gray case receivers fail. I have had a case crack on a SR3100, but that was an easy fix with a replacement case for under $10.;)

Lipo cells don't like to go under 3v. So 6v for the pack would be considered completely dead.;)

Just saw a thread with the 900Mah packs, but 307b showed me these 1700Mah that he bought last year that I may buy and try for the mains. Do you have a rule of thumb as to how far they should be run down and how do you actually know where you're at when driving nitro (no esc to program)
