I thinking about buy one of the new losi starter boxes, apart from color is there any diff between the rtr to run box and the black box? Also are they good starter boxes?

They are the same, they work well, and with a lipo, they are very light.

They are not the same. The black (non-RTR) has a sliding adjuster with a button. The RTR versions are adjusted manually and/or using a screw driver. You can see the difference if you you at the top side by side in pictures. I learned this the hard way when I ordered a wrap for a RTR box and the top didn't fit right.

Wow! maybe not exactly the same , Geesh, it's same motor, the same style, one is black, and one is maroon/burgandy, how many times do you need to adjust the adjuster plates? As far as the wraps? I don't use wraps, so that wouldn't matter to me.

Man thats why I go with the Ofna truggy box. I have used it for almost a year and it still works perfectly.

I did it the hard way. I modded the box to take the losi hardware so it works like the old losi box.

He's talking about the sliding/rotating pegs that allow you to use the box for buggy AND truggy easily. They switch right around just like the old losi box so you can start both with one box. A VERY big difference.

I'll stick with my dual ofna boxes personally! Frank's got the dialed setup.;)

i want the new losi box..that thing is awsome... i hate my old losi box... i loved my ofna box but i traded it for a so called tricked out losi box which was a freakin waste...

Will be announced soon. Sounds like a good promotion.

Sounds like a 3.0 is comming.... I'll wait for the new stuff

7 months of use and I have not adjusted or replaced anything on my Losi RTR box.

Not sure if the RTR truggy has always come with metal inserts for the servo horns or not (my buggy didnt last summer) but they look to be a nice addition. I already swapped the steering over to the aluminum but I'll probably leave the throttle with the included setup (might even use the other for the throttle on the buggy now).
