Truggy motor size

I think that the biggest engine size is a .28, but mileage will suck bad!!!!!! I got a 5 port go tech and it does fine. I just run the truggy the other night at a in door track and run 10 mins easy. I am going to try it again this weekend and time the mileage.

Additionally, most of the .28's that I have seen have a lot of bottom end torque but fall off pretty hard at mid-top.

I have tried a bunch of engines and the .28 by far has the most power but I was comming in for gas every 5 min. That 30 min main I went through 500 cc + my pit man had to open a new quart. The best balance I have found is the os speed engine, great bottom, insane top end that will rival most .28's and 9-10 min mileage (if you had a drake smooth trigger finger I bet you could get 11 or 12) These engines are great in the truggy. One race day I had a fellow racer who just turn marshaled my race come to my pit to take a closer look at my truggy. He said it was just screaming fast. Once he got close enough to see what mill I was running he said, "Ohh that explains everything" The os speed engines are the best $$ can buy, I am convinced.

The speed engines are great cannot beat quality I also run the os 28xz I get between 9-10 mins depending on tune / track and insert non modded. I also keep the carb slide 1/8th of an inch before passing the insert too help with run times. I've been running this engine for awhile others have peaked or ask since the power is awesome and run times were more then decent.

Ebay P/S/R assemblies 130 buck but it now US not Oversea fast shipping just bought one he has a few other sell 175 just a FYI

.21 engines are the way to go with today's light, efficient next gen race truggies. For most applications, the low end is enough and they are very fuel efficient and fast. OS engines are great, super easy to tune and durable. Great overall engines (I love my V-Spec). If you can wait, OS is coming out with a .2 engine that should probably be around $330ish. Great combo for low end and fuel efficiency. Right now, here's how I would rate the .21s I would get:

1. OS .21 V-Spec Promod (Better low end than speed, less expensive) $450
2. Mugen Ninja JX21 ($340) Great engine, a lot like the speed
3. OS 21 VZB V-Spec: $300 I currently run this engine and it is a absolutely fantastic engine
4. OS VZB Speed II Worlds Edition (Super smooth, fantastic engine, only #4 because of price: $500+

You can get #1, 3, and 4 at tower hobbies with a $60 off coupon. Great deal.

Made the jump today and bought the tuned flex chassis for my RTR. (can i quit calling it RTR now:D) Anyway hoping to give it a try next weekend. Hopefully Horizon or Orion will take care of my Alpha this week sometime so i can get it broken in. Anyone know when the new rear tower is going to be out?

Had fun racing Sunday. I put 3000 in the rear diff & moved the front tie bars up on the tower. Seamed to have more off power steering once I got my ride height correct (had to re-adjust after each race....) & definitely had the back end more manageable on power. Luv this car!!

Pete.

Blackie, if you want some more on power steering try a 2.5mm rear sway bar. it will also numb down the rear of the car a little. you might find yourself going back to the 2K diff oil
