For those who are interested, here is a little video of the first batch of the 8T-2.0.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ese1tdZ0i4A

Team drivers ran it back to back with the 1.0, the 2.0 was .4 seconds faster with a hero lap with the 1.0 and .9 seconds faster per lap on average. This was the race roller out of the box. Engine was 20 degrees cooler so, yeah the body is doing it's job.

Preheat your oven to 350F degrees and put your tires in the oven for 15 minutes. After the 15 minutes is up pull one out (make sure you have gloves on they are HOT) and push the rubber down off the bead. If it comes off easy go ahead and do the other side and the other tires. If not put them back in for another 5 minutes and retry. I have dont this to close to 10 sets now and what happens is the heat actually "crystalizes" the glue and its virtually all gone when you seperate. You may have to do a tiny bit of clean up work if you had excess glue but TRUST ME it works! The only side affect is your house will stink like rubber for a couple hours but it doesn harm your oven at all. If your tires dont pop right off the bead make sure to put them back for another 5 minutes or else the rubber will tear and stick to the rims. In some cases I had to heat the oven up a little hotter to 375 or 400 even but rarely needed to go that hot.

The proper way to do this is pre-heat to 400, wrap all tires in aluminum foil, place on cookie sheet. When the oven hits 400 TURN IT OFF & THEN stick the wrapped tires on the cookie sheet into the oven. Let it sit until cold, the tires will all but fall off and there will be almost NO smell (a typical range cover fan is the most you would need for no smell at all). Tires or wheels will be reusable, which ever you were trying to save..

8-t 2.0 in action

I attended the nor-cal finals today in Madera, CA at CRV raceway and a factory driver, Phillip Atondo, was wheeling an 8ight-t 2.0 around the track. All I can say is wow. If I haden’t seen it with my own eyes I wouldn’t believe it. I want one. The truck is awesome it floats through the bumps, jumps like the buggy and corners like its on rails. I know that Phillip is a factory driver and could make any vehicle look like this, but it still looks very good. Phillip also told me that the truck was box stock. No upgrades. I got an upclose look at it and it was totally box stock no upgrades at all. He even used the stock tires which aren’t the best for this track. People were calling the t 2.0 the "ELCAMINO" because of the new body design. Well the elcamino blew the doors off the competition. I don’t care what it looks like if it works as flawlessly as the 8t 2.0 did. :D

Also have a question about the new 2.0 buggy and truggy. Do they fork on the Losi 8ight starter box (forgot to ask Phillip).

losi_racer 01-10-2009 09:33 PM

yes they do. i have a 2.0 buggy, and i use the losi truggy/buggy box..

losi also has a video of the 2.0 truggy gettin started by it

I know it's Truhe driving that thing, but that truck looks dialed!

I still can't see how a fuel gun will work with that body. If you look at the shot of the body how it comes towards then end of the above link, losi only cuts a small hole in the windshield for a tank pull. Now obviously you could cut a bigger hole, but I still don't see how it is gonna lign up. With the cab foreward design of the new body it seems like you would have to hack the body up pretty good to get the right angle. Whatever I have mine ordered already so it's definately not gonna stop me. Just loved how the 1.0 seemed purposely designed to work with the fuel gun.

Hey JAMMINKRAZY...you can see the fuel gun hole in the vid...right at the end with the shot of the shell on.....kinda looks funky but at the same time should work.

Nevada 01-11-2009 09:10 AM

Yes, Tyler was there. He qualified second behind the Losi 2.0.:)

Yeah I see that. But that was what I was talking about hacking the body up. meaning the hole is not in the window. It will work though.

Signguy Gary 01-11-2009 11:21 AM

Yeah Phillip called me today I think he said he TQ'd by 6 sec. over Tyler.
Phillip is very impressed with the 8ight T 2.0
