I'm glad somebody saw the humor in my post. Man guys lighten up, this is supposed to be fun.
Just kidding on the X2.
I have always used the King Headz extended mounts on both the buggy and truggy, but now I'm having a little problem with the Losi brand quick change mount. It seems to be a little thick and the starter wheel won't reach the flywheel very easily on my 2.0 buggy. The starter box bottoms out in travel and the wheel is hitting both sides of the chassis and I can smell the rubber burning off the wheel. I did modify my Losi starter box with OFNA internals, but never had an issue with the first gen buggy or my truggy. Now the flywheel is sitting about .025" higher in the chassis with the Losi brand mount. I guess I will have to measure the diameter of the flywheel on the 2.0 (I would think it would be the same) and both thicknesses of the Losi mount and the King Headz mount and see if they are different.
As for the alignment marks with the King Headz mounts, one of the Losi guys showed me a little trick to help keep the motor in better alignment. He said to loosen the motor mount bolts with the car on it's rear wheels at a right angle to the surface the rear wheel are touching. The front wheels are aimed straight up. If you keep pressure on the motor towards the rear of the car, you are using the bolts or the cupped washers as an alignment guide to keep in the clutch bell in alignment with spur gear.

There are a couple of options to get the starter wheel bumping the flywheel....first you can chamfer the edges of the opening on your chassis or decrease the diametre of your wheel to fit. A smaller wheel will give you more torque.

It was actually Dave Henry from Sprucewood Team Losi in Canada. All the guys on that team gave me a lot of pointers at a GLORCs race in the states. They were all very helpful, which is pretty cool when you are a newbie to racing.

Casey is a great guy, I just couldn't resist to give him a shot.

Chad - Hey I'm the guy who's Losi Truck is on the front of your T-Shirts ( I think you guys are the hobby shop ) Red trialer? if you are have you guys gotten any more shirts in?
Rich - That should work ubless your painter falls asleep
0 and 1/2 off set Truggies only change the pivot points, from the inner to outer hinge pins, but I think the Kyosho's can run either by running different front spindles so that wouldn't change I'm not sure about the Associated though I've never even looked at the truck up close, but it is a ST-RR Clone with junk plastic
I'm not picking sides on all the Drama and I'm new to this site and really don't know all the backgrounds of the posts and posters but I do frequent S-Grid and I know when Racers were having servo issues everyone was all over Losi then the RC8 came out and between everyone hinge pins falling out, and the shock caps blowing off every run ( the buggy really was/is? a pile ) if anyone started to cry about the RC8 everyone would jump in and say it was there first 8th scale just give them time. Losi won out of the gate and got some bad press mostly because people couldn't set endpoints. My son and I have been running the Losi 8ight & 8ight T since they came out and we have maybe lost 5 servos toatal in about 2 years or so, some were older and a couple were user error.
