cracked rims

its funny to see all the ruckus on here but if you guys just sit back and look at your trucks you will notice a few things. i notice though that integra always has the wise cracks and answers you would almost think he works for losi as an enginier hell i dont even know if i spelled it right, but here again im not an english teacher so who cares, but i am a hell of a fabricator and seem to have all the bugs in my truck worked out and havnt had a problem such as bearings, screws and cracked wheels so take how you want but frank i ran clean all day and still cracked wheels and it didnt matter what brand that is what made me look at the big picture and not the wheel companies. well im sure i made someone mad but oh well its life i just thought i would put my 2 cents in just like everyone else lol

I Just looked at mine and noticed that the wheels hit the arms both in the front and back of the arm. Good find JDUB! Little bit of dremmel work and the problem will be solved. Mine hit in the back where they already tried to make clearence for the rims(obviously not enough) and they hit in the front right at the top of the arm right where the arms bend after the shock mounts.

thats were they rub on the 1.0 but when you cut that away you also have to grind some off the outer hing pin

Why is that?

ZERTA RACING 03-24-2009 02:59 PM

sorry lift out the minor detail:sweat: when running 0 offset with out hub extenders(for super tight tracks it works better).

Cracked rims

Hey JamminKrazy

Do you have marks on the arms where the rims are hitting? Can you trim enough material off the arms to prevent the rims from touching?

Thanks, I'm buying a 2.0T this week

Actually the 2.0 rubs there as it is. I just slapped some 2mm losi extended hubs on and it is golden. It is even designed with the pin/screw slightly countersunk but still rubs. I would think losi could have designed the wheels alittle better. I mean they are designed specifically for this truck, they shouldn't rub.

Yup there are little scuffs. they only rub there when pushed beyond full lock(by hitting a tube etc.). So I would assume that with a tad bit of plastic removal they would clear fine. I have yet to take my dremmel to them so I can't be completely confident.

I find it hard to believe my AKA wheels were rubbing and causing the cracks. I just looked over the a-arms really closely and just barely see a very small rub mark on one side in the front. Additionally, I was having all 4 wheels crack on me last weekend - major cracks. Furthermore, I contacted AKA and was told there had been similar complaints and they had produced an updated wheel with stronger molds to fix this problem. So... at this point, I don't see it necessary to take the dremel to the a-arms.

J-Dub,
Thanks for pointing that out with the arms.

Jammin,
Tnaks for the pic.

Will have to take a look at the wheels as I think they did rub a little. Makes sence to me, though I thought with the slight offset difference on the AKA wheels that would not be an issue. I'll hit up the AKA guys down at the Silver State and see what they have to say. Just sucks that it was a brand new set, but live and learn.

Can I just dremel off a little bit of the inside of the stock losi 2.0 wheels so they dont hit the steering arms, instead of dremeling off the arm? I dont think it would be a big deal either way. What do you guys think? I would like to run my stock 2.0 wheels for a bit.
