Just got an eight t from my wifes brother and I was going to do a pretty good overhaul. I have never had a truggy before so I had a few questions. What are good servo specs for the truggy, will ones that work for a nitro buggy work as well for the truggy. The other question is engine size do racers use .21 or .28 engines.

I like at least 350oz in my truggy.. I run 275 to 300 in my buggies..

NZ_Basher 07-23-2013 04:41 PM

anybody tried the 3.0 shocks on the truggy? and do they fit alright?

aznitronut 07-23-2013 04:52 PM

Are Truck shocks available? The truck isn't out yet, is it?

bigbadbasher 07-23-2013 06:41 PM

He probably means the buggy shocks..

The buggy shocks are to short. Buggy rear shocks would work on the front of the Truggy, that's all.

.21 engines ore used in Truggies 99% of the time. 28 just use too much fuel if your racing and the .21 are amazingly fast in a truggy. Some mfg make .23 and .25 (NovaRossi) especially for truggy with great results too.

Most guys who race will use a .21, because a .28 just sucks too much fuel. You can get plenty of power with a .21. I have a Clocked B5, and I barely get past half-throttle because there is more than enough power in it.

The 3.0 Buggy shocks are longer than the 2.0 Buggy shocks, so I thought they might be long enough. Have you measured them? I'll measure the shocks tonight and see

Can I use a 2.0 buggy rear diff case on an 8T?

Losimoe 08-06-2013 07:44 AM

Yes. the diff case, internal gears, sun gear, gasket are all the same. the outer ring gear and pinion however have different tooth count.

I'm sorry I meant the diff housing, the part the diff goes into.
