Can anyone tell me the latest pro setups for the 8t 2.0 besides the normal 7-10-2

Losimoe 02-22-2013 05:24 AM

pretty hard to beat the 7-10-2 combo. i run that with 55/55wt front and 56/45wt rear shocks. the car has to be run pretty aggressive but works for me. the car has less dip/roll on brake/turn/accelerate. for some reason im getting more consistent lap times.

My mmm2 2200kv system came in today. Truck is ready to go. Just needs to stop raining. I put a 14tooth pinion on it to start. I am running 4s. Looking for around 46ish mph. My trophy truggy has the same system other than its the older none water proof version and geared 15/50 it was GPSed at 47 mph. So looking for the same power. Hope the 14/45 will be close.
Man l will tell you what l spent way more money than l wanted getting this thing up and running. Going to get the aluminum rear bearing holder and ceramic bearings but they have to wait until the bank account recoups.
Here it is

Hey guys, What wheels are everyone running? I just got an 8T 2.0 and not sure which wheels everyone runs now lol

DO NOT waste your money on ceramic bearings!!! AVIDRC has every bearing on the truck for $1 each, change them monthly and you will be GOOD

Wheels or tires? Wheels zero offset is pretty common. Tires, well that depends on the track.

Zero offset is almost a must for the 2.0. If you run the 1/2 off's, be ready for it to push like a dump truck. AND get the new hottness. PL VTR's, AKA EVO's or JC EL Beads.

For tires, find what the fast guys are running and get yourself some.:sneaky:

Hey guys, I'm building my 8T 2.0 and I am looking at getting the KH quick change motor mount. Is there any advantage in getting the extended one for truggy? I would think it reduces flex around the center diff and that would be good for consistent gear mesh. Which one do you guys run?

Extended in truggy is the way to go.

Thanks, also, when building the diffs, they seem very tight. If I loosen the four screws that hold the diff together, it will free up, but I don't wanna lose all my fluid with the screws loose. I've taken the rear one apart 3 times to remove a little fluid and this hasn't worked. I've rebuilt the diffs on my 8b several times and never
had this problem. Is this something that will wear in, or has anyone had this problem? I don't post a lot, but I'm on here a lot, and I know about shimming the rear tight in losi's, but this thing is super knotchy and I'm stumped.

Probably just needs to wear a little depends how tight you're talking.

Are you are talking about the diffs internals? or when the diff is installed in the case?

If its the diff internals, take out the shims on the planet (small ones) gears but leave them on the sun ( big ones) gear.

If its when the diff is installed in the case, you may have it a touch too tight. It should be a touch notchy if its a brand new ring and pinion. after about 20 minutes of running, a slightly notchy ring and pinion will free up, thus known as "the break-in".
