The shock towers in my kit kind of looked liked the edges had already been sealed. I'm going to run it as it comes and see how they hold up.

I don't have my 6 yet (in the mail) but the front MBX5R arms don't even fit on the MBX5 (requires much grinding). Last night I compaired the MBX6 parts list to the MBX5 (not R) parts list and there were only a few (less than 10) parts in common. It's a whole new car.

GREGORY!,
Looks like X6 Arms will work on a 5R.

Mugen Buggy Arms measured at Hinge Pin.
Front X5 E0107(L/R) = 53.5mm.
Front X5R E0107B(L/R) = 52.0mm.
Front X6 E0149(L/R) = 51.5mm.

Rear X5 E0106(L/R) = 53.5mm.
Rear X6 E0150(L/R) = 52.5mm.

Gear Box measured at Hinge Pin.
MBX5 E0103(A/B) = 54.5mm
MBX6 E0146(A/B) = 54.8mm

RBMike,
What did you have to grind to get MBX5R front Arms to fit on a MBX5?

if you are running the old style mbx5 gearbox casings the 5R arms are much thicker at one end and need to either be thinned down or the gearbox needs material removed, the newer version has a flat on the gearbox so the arm wont touch, this is the only mod i can think off to make the arms fit between the 5 and 5R

I ditched work to run a couple of tanks and a club race on Tuesday....it was unbelievable...easy to drive and tons of steering. My teammates were in awww.

Shock tower held up in a few pretty bad crashes, I lost the normal amount of screws on a new build (2), zero parts broken, after first tank drivetrain was free and rolling great. Sealing the front shock tower is a good idea.

I'm in love with her and we will have a great season in 2009. Watch out MP9's!
