On the list, I would go with the GO Tech 3 port or 5 port. Seems the workmanship is the best of these engines and they make very usable power to boot.
Off the list I would run the Sportworks V2 .21. It is a true 7 port and comes with inserts. We are seeing 10+ gallons of hard racing, better fuel milage than all of the other motors we run and power that does not get pulled. At the RC Pro finals this engine still had no problems on the big track with lots of traction. We were seeing 10:30 run times. If I were going to buy an engine this would be it. $189

I would stay away from go motors. My recommendation would be the s3. good run time,holds a tune and lasts forever. Otherwise if you wanna spend a little bit more I would highly recommend a falcon.

Picco(P7R/JPX) makes more power and RPM then the GO engines.. ( I am sorry to say that, but the dyno doesn't lie) from working on both motors extensively I can say the metal quality of the Picco is quite a bit better... the Picco cranks use a much higher grade of steel, the crankpins are harder and wear better , and the pistons are harder and will hold an edge longer....... The Picco IMHO is the best value at this price range...the GO engines are a strong performer no doupt, but i feel the Picco is providing more value with better build and material quality and a slight edge in overall performance... I mean you can buy a JPX .21 for $220.00...
Now replacement parts for the Picco's is expensive, much more expensive then the Go engines......I personally run both motors, Go and Picco, and feel both are great mills, but I do feel the Picco has the better initial value....the Go is a better value when you need parts and service..Russ Jones is reason enough to own a Go engine, he's an awesome guy to deal with....
You can't go wrong with either motor, but you also cannot blindly dismiss the JPX 21 as a competitor to the GO engines....

From what Iv'e seen with friends RB's, they are pretty impressive in the power department and delivering upwards of 6 + gallons on stock internals.

pretty big power difference between the S7 and the Jammin though........the JPX is actually a competitor tot he C6 when it comes to power output, well truth be told the JPX is stronger then the C6..... But the S7 is a very mild motor, the JPX is quite the opposite and near the top of the .21 power wars....... Yes a JPX .21 is a total beast of an engine !

Hey steve, I was thinking. I know dangerous. Maybe you should just up your max price to $240-260?

I had a slight problem with my go, but it turned out to be the clutch shoes. I have never had an engine this easy to tune. I ran 3 weeks, and never touched the needles, unlike my nove 3 port. I dont know why i didnt try them sooner. Im only getting like 6 mins on a tank, but im chasing setups right now, and having a tough time to get to 200 *

hell, if your only getting 6 minutes a tank, and not even at 200 degrees, lean it out on the top a bit, atleast till your temps at 220-230 then you'll get more time out of it. Our heat races are 7 minutes long, so you would have to pit during a heat race, and that would kill any good run.
If your heats are only 5 minutes, I can see why you have no urge to lean it out.

i agree, i bought a used v-spec about two months ago. the guy said it had just over a gallon on it. yeah, a gallon on bad rear bearings... gave the guy $150.00 for it. had to replace bearings,con rod, so i just replaced p/s also. so i have a little over $300.00 for a "used" engine....
will NEVER buy a used engine again. the engine is now my back up engine..."way back up"...LOL

well, I won a Vspec at our local rc series over the summer. I already had a Vspec and thought I could used the money, so I sold my 3 gallon old Vspec to a guy I race with. I warned him to not buy it for one simple reason, it was used and I can't Guarantee it will last any particular amount of time. He agreed and bought it anyway. He put 2-3 more gallons on it and snapped a rod. I felt bad, but he knew what he was getting into.
