OCM KAOS DOMINATING
#1351
Well, had a great day out for the first run with my OCM's. Thanks Allan for the setup sheet to get me in the ball park. There were about 150 racers for the frist round of the Prarieland Shootout. Great track that Bernie and the guys at Leisure Hours put together. It got a little blown out by the end of the day though. I had 3 pretty decent qualifiers with very few issue. In fact the ONLY issue I had at all relating to the car was a set screw on my rear CVD came loose 45 seconds before my 2nd qualy started. Got some great help from my pit guy and got it on the track in time. Funny thing is during this I lost the bearing for the rear diff. So with the rear pinion wobbling all over the place, off I went. Made through with NO issues at all. I honestly thought I would be rebuilding my rear diff after that one. NOPE.
Believe me, I put the Kaos through some really brutality with my inexperience! Not one broken part! That says something. The car jumped very well although it did seem that the rear got a little out of shape now and then. Will have to work on that.
I wanted to say a special thanks to team driver Jay Hudson and his partner for going the extra mile to help me get my car dialed in. That watched my runs, asked what I liked and didn't like. Then we went to the pits an made some changes for the next round. His partner isn't even woth OCM any more but still dropped everything to help. And they hooked me up with one of those SICK pit towels. I cant wait to strip er down and clean er up. Have to get ready for the Midwest Nitro cross round 1 in 2 weeks. Thanks all and hope you have good racing!
Oh yeah as far as mains go I was in D main as this was my first run with this car. Main started off great and was in the lead for 2 laps. Then my clutch started to fail and I had to limp around the track. UGH!

Guys, yesterday at Round # 2 of our Border Wars series Scott porter took the tq and win over a pretty stiff field of truggy drivers! Brad Tompkins of OCM was also looking very fast and was leading throughout the race but a cvd pin cam out and dropped him back through the field.
I did not run truck for this race but did manage to start second and take the win in the pro buggy class.
It was a great day and a awesome track layout! The track grooved, was technical and flowing as well!

Alan, Jay qualified 2nd in the B. He had a little trouble in his first qualifier, or he would of been in the A. There were over 70 pro buggy entries. With some of our best drivers in the region. In the 3rd round Jay was 3rd overall for that round. We used qual points so consistancy was key. He led the main for a bit, but had a flameout that cost him too much time.
I qualified 7th in the B, I was pretty happy with my results, finished 5th or so. My faithful OS speed has finally died, it ran all day, but there was like no compression or power.
Slaytanic, It was nice to meet you, and if we ever race together again you can hit me up for help anytime.

By the way Alan, Jays Redline mill sounded REALLY good yesterday. Pretty impressive. I forgot to see what pipie he was running though. They had a pretty good sounding tune on it. I had some serious issues with my Go 5 so I had to run my trusty backup. Sportwerks .21. Soo easy to tune and really rips. Thats why the clutch issues bit me. I basically dropped it in and went. My own fault. I shoulda checked my clutch before the main.

And I can say that the Dead OS Speed was celebrated in the proper fashion
