yes sure is something...
all steering
smokes mbxr and losi now...
if the rear is edgy, go to 12.000 up front

juzza

it is not so different than other makes..
all have to have a 0.10 to 0.30 tick 13/16 mm big shim
at the gear side of the diff assembly to close the gearteeths together
the shim mounts onto the outdrive, between the bearing and the bulkheadsides
when you move the diff in the bulkheads with a finger at the end
you just must notice, a very little play, between the main gears
if the play is still a bit to much, use another 0.10mm x 13/16 shim
at the center driveshaft side bearing too
but don't push to much onto the center driveshaft
while securing the set screw in it

inside the diff, just use the OCM shims
if they are the latest , you have 0.20 mm tick ones at the satelite gears
you are ok
when you still got the thin older ones, measuring 0.12 mm
and the old very tick diff gaskets, you got to mount 2 of them at each satelite gear
but better buy the latest shims and gaskets

Hey I just ran my OCM truggy last finally with some new treads and it was dialed!! I could drive right through the turns, no push in middle or exit of turn at all and going into the turns would really well. All this after just putting on new tires BUT also put the TQ Racing SX8 Big Bore shocks on it. I can give you the setup of what everything is on the truggy except for Diff fluids. This is AB's old truggy and do not know what fluids he was running in the diffs.

If your friend has the new latest ARR. Then no extra shims are required.

Does anyone know if the Mugen center diff mount fits the Kaos?

I know other people had ran the truggy ratios in the kaos and really liked them. I never did but from what I have seen in the 5r I think it would hold true in the evo.
I bought some used MBX5T truggy gears off our favorite auction site to test this theory. As I was putting the first diff together, I discovered that the outdrive shaft (the part that goes through the center of the gear and into the diff housing) is a larger diameter than the hole through the gear Consequently, this little experiment has come to a screeching halt. To go further would require at least one outdrive and one internal gear per diff and that's if the internal gears all mesh up and play nice. Anyone need some MBX5T gears?
