i have light weight pivot balls, some titanium screws (upper), machined a few parts, carbon hinge pins, carbon fiber rear shock mount, and the kings heads steering posts. the machining of the chassis, pivot retaining screws, side mud guards and some of the steel lower screws netted me a weight loss of some where close to 12 grams. i just would like to get it really light (still strong) and then have to add some weight to it to balance it out.

Some guys run the center diff out drives on the front & rear since they are lighter. They need to be slightly modded though. The steel ball ends add up in weight, chassis braces, ceramic bearings, Rx battery, motor (with head) and pipe, and the biggest item are tires/rims/foams.
oh, and don't forget the body & paint job. I've seen painted bodies that weight 80 grams and ones that weigh 160 grams.

im not going to add as much as i take away. it is to keep the car balanced is all. you would be suprised how many guys run some lead weights in thier buggy's.

just depends where most of the weight comes off at to where i will the weights. (probably only 2-4 1/4 oz weights) as off right now though the front lost more than the rear. i figure i can atleast center the weight. tony you were not kidding about the tire weight differences with regular foams vs molded. i have 1 body that weighs 74 grams the other 83.

just wanted to let everyone know i put the washers under my steering ball ends to get rid of the bumpsteer and i must say, i never really understood what bumpsteer was, but after i added the washers, i FULLY understand it now! it is amazing how much better it handles and turns. thanks for the info and pics on it guys.

I bought the mbx5t prospec front center and rear diffs as well as front and rear pinions for my mbx5r. I'm currently running the 48t spur with 14 tooth CB. how do you think the truggy gears in the buggy will compare to that. I mostly like the spiral cut, my truggy is so much smoother than my buggy.

Is there a standard kit part for the washers to eliminate bump steer? If not, anyone know the washer size?
