From Losi:
Springs: You have four different color coded clutch springs to choose from. As seen in the table the softest are the .036” “Black” and slightly harder “Green” springs that have more preload (angle). The harder springs are the .040” “Gold” and hardest “Silver” (more angle).
Clutch spring table
LOSA9112 .036” Black - Softest
LOSA9113 .036” Green - More preload
LOSA9114 .040” Gold - Harder
LOSA9114 .040” Silver - Hardest with more preload

I started my buggy up this weekend with the losi 8ight starter box and a huge puff of smoke came out of the starter box. now my box dosn't work. i guess the motors are gone? what are you guys using for motors in your boxes? stock losi?

I just put in the 550 motors from the team magic turbo II box. They have a little more power than the stock box motors. But getting the pressed on pinions to work is tricky. I'm getting ready to drill and tap for a set screw. right now I have used some metal epoxy between the pinion and motor shaft. If that doesn't hold then I'll use set screws. The Team Magic motors already have flat spots machined on the rotor shaft. As of now though all is working great.

The bushings and screws on the left side of the picture is a place to start. I'm not sure if they are available without the ackerman plates.

carbon fiber shock towers?
Anyone have experience with carbon fiber shock towers? I want to upgrade these because I have the RTR and see the carbon fiber ones on ebay for $30 for the pair (about the same as a pair of the kit towers).
Are these as tough as the kit towers? Or should I just go with the kit version?
Thanks!
