I use the Mugen BII box. It's absolutely perfect for the 8ight. I didn't have to grind the chassis or the starter box wheel at all. After you put the stone guards on the side of the chassis plate, line it up with the starter box. It's much easier than trying to do it after the car has been fully assembled.

I believe Justin is racing the Losi over there because thats where the competition is in his part of the world.
I will look for his name in the leaderboards when he starts racing this class again and will not be suprised to see him near or at the top of it.
Good luck Dude and see you at the snowbirds

Hey guys
Hey guys I was just wondering if this is a good starter box for the 8ight http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...oducts_id/8453 and do I need to cut the chassis for this starter box to fit the 8ight and if you say it is a good starter box for the 8ight, also what mods do I need to do for it to fit 2-7.2v batteries in it because it says you can only fit a 12v pack and in order to fit 2-2.7v batterie packs in it you need to do your own mods to it. Would anybody know what mods you have to do to it to make 2-2.7v batterie packs work in it is. Thank you guys very much.

I use that same starter box and it works great. Im not sure about using a different battery. No modification is needed.

no
Weezer no modifacation needs to be done to fit 2 7.2v batterie packs instead of one big 12v batterie.

I use that Ofna chrome top box too. Works pretty good.
FOr a battery though, I used a Max Amps 10000 MaH 14.8 volt Lithium battery.
Lots of power and lasts forever. I think I have not needed to recharge it in a month. And I go to the track at least 2 - 3 times a week. And, if there is no power at a track, I use the batteryt o power my charger for my tx and rx packs and it still does not run out.

Let me know if you need any help or question and I will be happy to see if I can help.

The only upgrade you should make to the RTR is to go to King Headz or Losi 7075 aluminum clutch shoes, all 4 shoes. The rtr comes with only two shoes installed. Other than that, there are no necessary upgrades. IF you bend a stock shock tower, replace it with the one from the kit. The servos that are included are adequate but 125oz+ servos are preferable for throttle and steering. Good servos make a difference you can notice while driving. Otherwise, there are no upgrades that will actually improve the performance.
Be sure to have an expert (preferably one that has an 8ight) look at your throttle linkage to be sure it is set up correctly and get the correct tires for your track, probably PRoline Crimefighters in M2 compound.
Break in the engine carefully and enjoy.
