Anywhere that sells pinewood derby cars should have tubes of powdered graphite.

What do you clean your car with?

I think air in a can or air compressor works good. I usually take some parts off to wash them and dry them. They say if you apply wd40 before hitting mud it tends not to stick as bad as is easier to get off?

last night I used a kitchen wet wipe (disposable cloth) on my dusty/muddy buggy . Came up pretty good.

There's a truck wash called CT18. That stuff is great for cleaning and softening tires .

for me cleaning muddy condition better to use water & blast with air compressor
then spray with wd40 & blast it again with air compressor (if you wanna store it)

ive never used any lube after cleaning in the middle of race (heat/finals) it attracts more dirt

I am anal abaout it... I take out all diffs bearings and engine/radiotray.
Then i take my pressurewasher and muckoff or similar and wash it with warm water/high pressure. Afterwards, i take out all hingpins and steeringbearings and clean it, polish evry hingepin and shockshaft.

My cars are always super smooth:-)

Can you guys recommend a nice portable air compressor with enough psi to do a good job cleaning off an 1/8th buggy? I don't need a huge capacity tank Im more interested in psi, capacity comes second.

they pretty much all go up to the same pressure. The bigger the tank the longer you can spray at pressure. Get the biggest you want to haul around.
