I had shim my central diff mount up and I could used a 46T spur stock diff or
a 48T spur losi HD diff without any problem.
I don't have a 50 T spur to try but it still have space between 48T spur and chassis .

I had very great success without breaking body post and post mount by using offset
Body post like Dr_T.

Hi guys :)

I just bought myself an MT410 and looking forward to building it, but I'm unsure of a motor/esc combo for it. I don't want some stupidly powerful wheelie machine, what's the point of that, I do of course want the speed with all 4 wheels planted. Of course space is a problem.

I'm thinking of the Hobbywing 4268 1900kv but I'm concerned about temps and lack of power, who's running one? any videos?
I'm also thinking of the old school Hobbywing Xerun 4274SD 1800kv (pictured below) with a Max8 or XR8. I can pick up a new one cheap here in Oz. This would have less power and I could gear it right up, 18 or 20T pinion even, so wheelies shouldn't be a problem and I'll get the speed I want

I'll be running 4S with 3.8 Badlands

Any thoughts/advice

I run the 4274 2200kv with the xr8 Plus in on 6s and its way to much. When I run it on 4s, it still easily does wheelies on command but is way more manageable. With how big the tires are I would only run truggy size motors, that extra torque is always welcome. Its also a very tight fit, I had to shim the motor away from the motor mount and shave some off the center brace.

Castle electronics on the other hand suck. Put about 5-7 packs through the MMX and 1515 motor and it packed up. Sent it back to Castle 4 weeks ago and still do not have it. They also cannot seem to locate it and will not respond to my responses. Hobbywing is the only way to go. Amazing truck should have amazing electronics to keep it in the air.

so many people are disgusted from castle's ESC !! i am one of them ! i went to hobbywing too, and never had any problem ! my favorite is the older quikrun 150a : simple and quick response esc !

Not me, never had a problem with 1 and I have 5. Including two MMXs... one of which I have had on a buggy for almost 2 years. 4s and 6s only on the 8ighte 3.0. I have raced and bashed it.

Replying to my own post, now that's awesome

Anyway, I was looking around the internet for various esc/motor combos and a hobby shop here in Australia had the Tekin RX8 gen2 and 2250kv truggy combo for only $299AUD, roughly $225 US dollars, what a bargain!!!!
Sure it's the gen2, but I'm not fussed about that at all
So the Tekin combo it is. I also ordered a Tekin Hotwire, a set of badlands, a Savox 1270, Tekno alloy servo horn, and the Proline 2017 F150 nRaptor body from Amain

I can play around with the RX8 with the Hotwire and lower the punch, timing etc etc, you know the drill. Very happy anyway with my find

I'm planning on making this a "true" 1/8 truck by extending it with the ET48 chassis. For anyone that's done it are these the only parts I need...

- ET48 chassis
- ET48 chassis brace set
- ET48 rear centre driveshaft
- Bodyshell, I was thinking of the HPI Gigante body. It's wheelbase is 360mm, the ET48's is 380mm. The overall length is 545mm, width is 203mm

grabbem88 05-18-2018 04:46 PM

I went the other way with mine et48 to a mt410 but you the parts listed what you need

bodies are limited ...I went with a hpi f250 body

you could get the AE nomad cage/body two sets of body posts and use the rears for front and rear
oh and get the panels that go to it..
it looks awesome that away

The HPI Gigante will fit with the truggy chassis, it says so on the Tekno website "requires truggy chassis and driveshaft" awesome :D

MT410 owners, wondering if you can help me with a question.

I'd like to figure out whether the MT410 center diff is a drop-in replacement for my ofna 1/8 buggy. I need hardened steel diff internals (vs cast aluminum) and I would prefer to have the parts support of Tekno.

I have checked the manuals for the MT410 and my vehicle, and the bearing sizes are the same. The only other question that remains is distance between the outdrives (as measured at the end of the bearing shown below). Could anyone help me out and measure the Tekno center diff to see how close it might be to 35.6mm? If it is close, then I can probably find a way to make it work...

Thanks in advance!

Here is the relevant part of the manual for my current vehicle:

The Gigante bodies fit well with the truggy chassis and so does the Associated Rival Body, but they’re both very thin Lexan and don’t last long. And the Gigante bodies are often very hard to find.

I’ve found that the Aarma Nero Big Rock Body is perfect with the truggy chassis. It’s a little expensive, but it looks and fits great and it’s very thick and durable Lexan.

Ok thanks for that info. The Big Rock bodies are expensive, here in Australia $111 for the clear unpainted and $125 pre-painted. They have the body post holes already cut also, hmmmm. I'll have a think about that

Here's my build so far. I can't do anymore until the servo, body and Badlands arrive, hopefully within the next couple of days.
Certainly is a tight fit with the electrics, smallest pinion I could use without any mods is 16T. If it turns out to just be a wheelie machine with the tekin 2250kv then I'll definitely lengthen it with the truggy chassis

All in all though it's a great kit to build, goes together nicely, love it

Ok, I went ahead and bought the ET48.3 truggy with the intention of "borrowing" the chassis/braces/driveshaft to make my MT410 a "true" 1/8 MT, But now I'm thinking I will keep the MT410 the way it is and just build the truggy.

My question is for those that run a buggy size motor in their MT410. Is it powerful enough and how is the heat?? I'm thinking I will put the Tekin truggy motor in the new truggy, and get an RX8/buggy motor combo for the MT410.
Using the 2250kv truggy motor in the MT410 will no doubt make it a wheelie/backflip machine, I don't want that, I just want the speed and decent power

Any input/advice will be greatly appreciated :)
