I ended up just making my own motor mount out of a piece of angle alum it super simple and saves a bunch of money also use a ofna lx2e or lx1e bat box and you wont have to drill any new holes because they fit perfectly into the holes that the muggy already has and are raised just about 1/4inch so it also still lets you run with the mud guards and muggys are super hard to find however ebay is the place to find them i am currently looking for a few more myself

It's funny how the opinions differ. I have the RCM mount in my muggy and the D8 in my Savage. I prefer the RCM Muggy mount. The D8 is a pain.

I have been bashing and beating my Muggy for 4 years now. I have only broken 2 shock shafts. (knock on wood) I have a container full of spare parts that have never been used. The design is just very rugged. I have never had a diff issue however I do have the aluminum cases. Not sure if that helps.

Last year I collided hard with a brand new E-MAXX brushless kit. I broke his truck in half. My Muggy limped back to be with only a busted shock shaft. I felt bad because the crash was my fault. I paid for the $100 in parts to repair the E-MAXX.

My xxl is currently in bits right now after I hit a steel bollard at about 30 mph..the front end snapped off, so it was in 2 pieces when I picked it up..only broken pieces were the 2 chassis side rails, servo horns and one shock shaft!! I was expecting the worse when I tore it down but that was all..the lst2 series of trucks are VERY tough..
Like you I have a tonne of spares including a spare chassis, complete diffs etc etc..it's enough almost to make another roller..it's just sitting there, have never had to use it in the 8 odd months I've had my muggy up and running

U going all aluminum arms etc??
That id like to see..
The arms are fine dude..if anything just front carriers and knuckles is all thats needed.
If youre driving into kerbs at 40mph then i would think the aluminium upgrades are warranted

Default muggy power

hey guys, do you think a 1700kv tekin truggy motor will be enough for the muggy or should I just go with the 1717? I just don't want to put time into a build and then be under powered. Thanks

if you already have the 1717 its a great motor..for an alternative which is alot cheaper and more powerfull..run with the leopard hobby 4092 1480kv..its available from rcecho for about $100 to your door..best bang for ya buck!
this is assuming youre running with 6s lipo..none of these motors will perform on anything less

What happened to touting the 1390kv version? slightly lower kv but the 2Y wind is better than 3.5D wind IMO.

youre 100% correct, however the 1390kv isnt readily available anymore..i think the only place it is available from is offshore electrics..
the 1480kv is easily available from ebay or elsewhere fairly easily..
ose and others want silly money for the 1390kv just for a different wind of the same motor.
found one at a reasonably price

http://www.helipal.com/leopard-lbp40...ess-motor.html

theres also the 1300kv

I went with the 1480 kv from ebay for 90 bucks and that motor is amazing ridiculous amounts of torque
