Stock standard ATX..I can't find many 23 mm hex alternatives

Don't you mean 20mm? 23mm is the CEN size. You can swap out the 20mm hex's for 17's for the complete range of wheels/tires.

Stock is 20mm hex.

Proline Trencher X is good replacement and lighter. This is what you need Losi 17mm Hex Adapter Set

yeah I know I need 17mm hex..but I haven't really found a suitable replacement for the ATX wheels..sure theyre heavy but size wise I haven't found anything that comes close..the ones I have are still going strong despite all the abuse it gets..hoping to get my diffs in order and shimmed properly with all new parts very soon and hopefully that should be the end of my LST diff woes

Not really, lots of ppl run stock wheels with a properly shimmed diff without problems.
