E Maxx question
Are Robertson Racing slipper clutches good products ?What about a roll cage for e maxx worth while

RR slipper set-up is leaps and bounds over the stock slipper.. I have it on my maxx.. Would recommend it 100 times over... Mine was like $27 through Tower Hobbies...

O' to be a newb! lol "Robertson RACING" :D;) I was new once myself. But the RR products Ive used where top notch. Been running stock slipper in my Maxx BE since day one. No issues

Robinson Racing stuff is freakin great. I've got a ton of pinions made by them, and a Gen3 Slipper in my Maxx. Awesome stuff.

I just built a emaxx with rr gen3 slipper and it is louder than I expected. How tight should I go on the spur? Truck is "jumping" from a stop with little throttle. Any ideas? Thanks.

I set mine up to be as tight as I'd need in order to wheelie from a stop, but not enough to backflip. It's pretty tight.
If your truck is jumpy at low throttle, can you turn your motor over by hand, or does it sort of magnetically click as you turn it? My motor has a real stiff, chunky turn to it, so it's loud and "clicky" at low speeds. The gen3 slipper is loud. The metal rings. Nothing you can do about it. |

I was curious as to what causes it, Wikipedia calls it Cogging (No Current) Torque. Looks like lower pole motors will have a more pronounced case of it, as well as having a lot to do with construction. Thanks for the input and being easy on the newbe!I did mean robinson racing.I should be getting the slipper unit in mail today will the truck just break the next weakest link after the metal spur is installed?I checked out R/c raven they have a roll cage for E Maxx and a kit that has skid plates and metal front and rear bumpers do you guys think those are good products.From what i hear i am gonna be replacing alot of parts on this monster should i use rpm plastic or go with alum. stuff as i break it .Thanks for the help.

Stick with plastic. A lot more forgiving in crashes than aluminum unless you just want a show truck.

Not sure about bulkheads but stuff like arms and shock towers stick with plastic.

i understand why they are telling you plastic, but as you become a better driver get what you like. i havent broke anything on an RC car in a few years and almost every one of my cars gets the full metal treatment.
