I can understand plastic is more flexible than metal but i was thinking metal bumpers,skids and bulks and then plastic arms,shock towers would suit my driving habits. I have broken almost every truck or car i have had Jato 3.3 first day redcat moster truck everyday i owned it,duratrax evader brushless second day,xtm railbuggy second day and so on got a bad habit of hitting mailbox post and all on my road are 6x6 post!The Slash is the exception only thing i ever broke on it was a shock i think that has alot to do with the wheels and tires tucked inside body .I know learn how to drive before running 65 mph but i am a speed freak.The xtm rail brushless was mad fast on 3s lipos and is all metal but the 6x6 post at 60 mph or so didn't give ripped of left front wheel ,arms and all bent frame to got rid of that one.Maybe i should stick to open areas in grass and dirt!

I am gonna disagree on shock towers. I have flm aluminium and rpm plastic, both good but in a roll over the shock towers bend and put strain on the shocks themselves.

I use the flm with the standard body posts and have never had a problem.

Really depends on the part when it comes to choosing between aluminium and plastic.

Thumbs up for traxxas support they have answered my email's the same day i sent them.I stripped the spur on bl e maxx first run bad mesh from factory they said all trucks should be checked before running but offered to send me a spur!I work part time at hobby shop so i had already ordered the Robinson metal slipper and spur.Most company's don't even contact me back good job Traxxas!

So aluminium shock towers would put less stress on shocks?

Well everyone was right got my Robinson slipper kit today works very well.First jump broken rear shock tower rpm hear i come !!Wish traxxas would beef this stuff up for the mamba of course then it would be 1000.00 bucks.

I have a RTR brushed E Maxx. I bought this because it is water proof. They were right! I drove this in a local lake several times! Yeah Buddy! This is my first E maxx, but 3rd traxxas monster truck. My first T Maxx was the 1st gen pro 15 from 2000. The 2nd T maxx was the 2.5 2nd gen version that I hoped up and put an OS 40 four stroke and spent 600.00 extra on the build. It never performed like I wanted. Soo much money and soo little fun really. My question to you E maxx owners and racers is, what aftermarket parts are really worth putting on the truck evan prior to its failure? I want to keep the truck water proof still and also keep as stock as possible. What brushed motors would make this truck better? I was thinking of a pair of hand wound corally black motors. Any advice would be great.

I don't know that i would replace anything if it has not broken i assume your running the titan motors they are ok but really bottom of the line motors the corally motors would be a great improvement other than that if it isn't broken don't fix it.

The popular monster brushed motor right now is the DeWalt 820. I've got one in my Summit, it's awesome.

Kershaw Designs has a kit for $70 that includes the Motor, Pinion Gear, and motor mount plate plus hardware. Plus, they mill a flat in the shaft for you, and remove the press-fit factory pinion gear.

Run that plus 5S LiPo (Lots of guides on how to do 5S on the EVX2 Speed Controller), and you should get good speed, power, and retain your complete waterproofing.

I agree that is a good system had one on a stampede 2wd and it would wheelie on command and had good speed with the pinion supplied

If you get the extended battery hold-down bars (Check the parts list), the trays will fit a 2S on one side, and a 3S on the other. That's how I do it for my BL E-Maxx.
