thanks, i am just dreading polishing the bulks i will have to pick up some polishing wheels for the dremel. But i guess since i have to wait for more parts to come in might as well get it done.

accordman, thats the way to do it if you can find someone to polish it up get it done. It is nasty work and you will be covered in black aluminum residue when you are done. I am just a sucker for making myself work three times as hard as i should.

Accordman, if your serious about getting your stuff polished don't go to a machine shop. I'm a certified cnc operator (machinist) and you don't want to pay machine shop hourly rates for just polishing. You can see my gmaxx thread where I polished that stuff. I'm going to polish a flm chassis this weekend hopefully, if your really wanting yours polished I will send you pics when I'm done. If you like what I do I will do yours for you, you would just have to pay shipping.

For batteries, if you're using hard case lipos you can get away with foam underneath (I cut up a mouse pad for this) and velcro straps. Whenever I ran soft packs they got damaged so I now use a set of battery boxes from kershaw bolted to the chassis. The zippy flightmax 5000mah 3s lipos fit like a glove.

You can see how they fit in the pic back on page 2, also you can see how most 3s packs will be too wide to fit in the slots on the chassis unless you're running the longer skinnier ones like the packs kershaw offers.

the rear one has been polished

same the rear one has been polished

the left one is the polished one

I will get some better pics in the sunlight this weekend. I dont get off work till after it is already dark.

thanks man, well i took a break on the polishing but then i saw my servo laying over on the bench so i decided to strip the coating and give it a little polish up. The upper part is textured and i liked the look so i left it that way instead of smoothing it out.

and after
