I pulled the trigger on a Savage XS SS kit and am wondering if there are any issues that need to be addressed with the truck. I've read about the steering turnbuckles popping off. Is there anything that is needed to "bullet proof" the truck. I'm putting in a high torque servo and I have a Velineon system that will be a decent starting point. I will probably upgrade the esc and motor but I like the waterproof nature of that system.

I had issues with the steering links until I changed them out on both of my XS's.

I replaced my sons turnbuckle with the Texas slash 4x4 rear turnbuckle and it's a lot better than stock

I got my XS SS put together and out for its first test run. At first I thought the truck was a bit underpowered. I checked the esc and I had it in training mode. Back out to test and wow! This thing is a beast! The velineon I put in has plenty of rip. I took it to the track and it was almost as fast as the 1/8 scale cars. I put 7000 in the front diff and 3000 in the rear. The truck pulls around corners like a true race car. I jumped it off the huge 12+ foot hill and collided with the fence. The shock eyelet pulled through the screw but nothing else broke. I had a spare that took a couple of minutes to swap. Overall I have to say this is my new favorite bash truck.

lol..awesome!

I'm looking to pick one up to run around, since my local track is going down hill.

What ESC do you guys recommend? I plan on using a Savox 1267 for steering but not sure which direction to go in for the ESC. I was going to run a RS Pro but that isn't waterproof unfortunately.

Motor suggestions?

Just some FYI here about the XS,

I got mine a few weeks ago, and love it. The only think I have done to it, is replace the stock turnbuckles with the traxxas 2334 camber links andf I added a 3 racing red motor heatsink/fan from the toyz.

I have been running my Gen Ace 5300 2s lipo and it has been great.

I also run a 9.9V life pack 4200mah and it is awesome.

The 3s life pack gives you more power than the 2s lipo and a little less than a 3. Gives you great power and low temps due to not having all 11.1 volts running through it.

Hey guys

Have had my Savage Flux XS for 2 months now - and love the beast of a car!

But its time to upgrade a bits and pieces on it. Gonna drop in a traxxas 2075 WP steering servo soon.

What I want to upgrade is the tires/wheels - from what I have read the Proline Badland 2.2s or HPI Geolanders are worth getting (i run this on dirt/gravel 80%+ of the time).

How will those tyre survive if I was to run them on asphalt/concrete?

Hi everyone just picked up my XS ss kit today and I need some advice... I plan to install a spare Novak Kinetic ESC & Speed Passion 4 turn sensored motor in the XS. Does anyone have an opinion? Positive or otherwise?
